Inexpensive Wedding Invitations

Help! I need suggestions on inexpensive wedding invitations.  I am on a tight budget, so saving on invitations would be key.  Does anyone have any suggestions on websites that they used that were inexpensive?!

Re: Inexpensive Wedding Invitations

  • Ann's Bridal Bargains and Invitations by Dawn are inexpensive, but I ended up saving the most money by making my own.
Look over on the Invites and Paper Board for more suggestions.

  • We are going to use Magnetstreet.com, we used them for our Save the Dates and just loved them so much.  They let you order a sample of your invitation before ordering the entire lot.  The quality was wonderful!
  • Vistaprint is often recommended.

I also ordered samples from an Etsy shop called InvitingMoments. The invites were $1.60 each.

I am using a combination of cardsandpockets.com and catprint.com both came recommended from a friend who has beautiful invitations.  I'll be paying under $250 for the 85 invitations or so we need. A pocket holder and belly band from cards and pockets the invitation, reply card, reception card and envelopes from catprint.
Hobby Lobby and Michaels have some pretty invitations if you have a home printer.

  • You can always DIY or just order parts from a vendor. You can usually get envelopes pretty cheap in a store like Paper Presentation in NYC. There might be a similar store that is more local for you.

I would also suggest Wedding Paper Divas and Minted.com. There are always 20% + off coupons floating around. Also, Gilt City frequently runs promotions for WPD where you spend $50 for a $100 credit or something similar.

I used Minted for my engagement party and they were pretty reasonable. They also address the envelopes for free so that could save you time, so you can spend your time on another DIY project to help save.
  • Joann's has a good selection of DIY invites.  We got ours at a good discount w/their coupon of 20% off your entire purchase.  It came out to about $200.00 for 150 invites.  Good luck!

  • We're using wedding paper divas - We're getting invites + envelopes and response cards + envelopes for 150-180 people (waiting on final number) for about 500 bucks. Might not be the cheapest option, but I deifnitely don't have the time/inclination to DIY. It's coming in at about 1/3 of our budgeted price. We did magnet save the dates and are getting 250 of them fro $200 from custom magnets. They fit in regular envelopes so we can just go buy a bunch at a staples or something.
  • This might sound crazy but I ended up going to of all places - Party City.

I agree!  I went there and they had many binders full of invitations.  Some were cheesy, but many were beautiful.  I think they were 30% off all invitations too.  I noted the one I liked and googled it when I got home.  I then found a local place that was able to get them even cheaper.
  • have you heard of minted.com? you can use templates & DIY your own!

+1 on wedding paper divas.  Purchased the Gilt City vouchers and got out RSVP and Invitations from them.  We're probably getting our pockets from CardsandPockets.
  • We used Magnet Street and it was amazing.  We went to a few places and ordered the one sample from magnet street and liked it so much better.  And the price could not be beat...I believe we got everything (rec cards, invitation, env with return address and reply card) for 225 including shipping.  ( We needed 75 of each).  We can't get over how happy we are with everything and I truly never thought I would order them from online.
  • We ordered samples from Etsy shop Inviting Moments. Their invitations are $1.60 each.

Online you have so many options & coupon codes and yon can get free or cheap samples to make sure you like them.
  • I used Magnet Street for the save the dates, 200 magnets came in around $150. For invitations I used Ann's Bridal Bargains, 150 invitations and response cards with pre printed envelopes came in at $262 plus they always have coupons. Good quality and can't beat 0.79/invitation. The only extra I'm looking to purchase is $22 from Staples for postcards to include accomadation information.

  • @luna317777 the hotel I am using supplied accommodation cards for me. They even personalized them with our names and dates on them. Before you spend the money on the postcards you might want to see if the hotel you are blocking rooms at supplies something.
  • thank you for pointing that out! I'm asking them about that.
  • I just did a blog post on this with my top 3 online services for invitations, save the dates and also some cute things like mad libs and wine lables :)

  • I just used Vistaprint for our invitations yesterday. I found a great template on Etsy and had the designer customize the invite, rsvp, and reception/accommodation card that was $40, and then Vistaprint had their 40% off sale.  I spent about $220 for 150 of everything.  So everything was about 260.  You can't beat that!  I checked out Michaels too and didn't find anything I loved, and I just didn't want to DIY the invitations.  Now, what we will do is just DIY the belly band with monogram tag and we are ready to go.

Vista frequently does sales, so I would definitely check them out!

I should mention that I also went the non-traditional route.  We are getting married NYE and I am not a big traditional wedding girl at all.  But we went with the Cheers invites, but did Five...Four...Three...Two...One instead
