DJ Cost in Boston Area

Was wondering if anyone knows what the average cost has been for a wedding DJ? I was thinking it was going to be about $1000.

Also, if you can command DJ's in the area.

This is more of an internationally traveled board. You might get more acccurate answers on your local board (which I included a link for). But to answer your question (kinda) I am paying $750 (after tip) for my DJ but I live in WI.

We are from the Boston Area, I saw a few that were $1,000 or over but a few gave a rate of $600.00 for 4 hour reception b/c it was a friday night and with only 40 people. With that said, our  (most likelyDJ is our JP's son and doing it for $400.00 for 4 hrs.) If you want his info let me konw.
