After party

Hi all,

Starting to look at bar locations for an after party for Oct - it will be a Wednesday night. We have Maggianos until 10pm - thinking of maybe asking for another hour, but even so, that will still be a finish time of 11pm.

There will be probably about 40 of us with a mix of ages from 21-65. I would ideally like somewhere that plays top 40, 80s/90s music etc and isn't too pretentious, so if everyone wants to come, no one will feel out of place. Some people might not want to come, they might want to gamble etc, but I would like the option of it being open to everyone, rather than a club where it would pretty much only be the younger ones, and we would have to pay high prices for bottle service.

Most people will be staying at MGM, so anywhere on the strip will be fine!!

Thanks in advance!

  • Maybe Diablos right across the street from MGM http://diabloslasvegas.com/

  • Bourbon Room at the Venetian is a blast!  They have a great MC and play a lot of 80s music along with the old school videos.  Totally laid back and fairly close to Maggianos.

TI has Senior Frogs and Gilly's.  Check the Gilly's schedule though, sometimes they do bikini bull riding and it just ends up being drunk girls in their underwear!

Mirage has the Rhum Bar that is fun at night too!
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

  • Thanks for the ideas - these all look good!

Would Margaritaville also work for something like this? Or Carnival Court?

Thanks for all help so far :)

  • Anytime I have been to Margaritaville, I have never seen any dancing and it can get pretty busy on certain nights.  If I were you, I would either go to a bar that is close to Maggianos or at the MGM where you are staying.  If people have to venture to far, they might be tempted to go back to their hotel or do their own thing.
  • Margaritaville is VERY bad about group events.  Even if you walked in with 40 people and the second floor was vacant, they'd want to put you into group pricing which is two to three times as much as regular pricing.  They also won't book anything more than 90 days out, or maybe it was 60 days.  I really don't understand them.  I love the place but I'd never hold a group event there.  You'd probably be looking at $30+/pp minimum to do something there.

  • If you're into country, hop a cab to Town Square for Stoney's. Big dance floor, no problem to fit 40 people. It's on Las Vegas Blvd, but on the very southern tip, not walkable.
You might consider the new venue at Cosmo, Rose.Rabbit.Lie - part club, part performance, all different. I haven't been there yet, but it looks fascinating.
Carnival Court is a great place for a big group to blend into a crowd AND it has gaming AND flair bartenders. And Ghirardelli is right there for chocolate power boosts. No cover at all.
You might think about Bagatelle in the Trop, right across from MGM Grand. It's a bit more clubby, so check first.
