I'm over-thinking this. Color of jewelry and shoes and nail color.

I'm going to wear emerald jewelry with my dress. Is it too much to then wear green shoes? And if I do my nails a deep red, is that just too much to have going on? I asked my MOH and she said, "Yes, that's too much. You're not Cindi Lauper." Lmao. She kills me.

  • Honestly, as a guest, I will probably not notice the color of your nails or shoes.  I may notice your jewelry color because that will be a bit more prominent.  But then again, I probably won't.  I will only notice your dress and your face because you will look happy.

  • I think emerald jewelry and shoes are fine. Maybe do your nails in a more neutral color.

  • I think it sounds good - often nails are hidden by the bouquet to the point that I've never noticed a bride's nail color. If you're doing dark flowers in your bouquet, your emerald and deep red accents would go especially well!
  • I think french manicures are classic and always look nice.
  • I think the emerald coloured jewelry and shoes would look fine, however, I would choose a more neutral nail colour.  Examples:

  • I think the red nails with all the green will be Christmas-y. I think a neutral nail would be nice. I think the green shoes would be great. I did my nails like the first pic doeydo posted. I got a ton of compliments that it was different from the typical French manicure.

    I agree with this post
  • The jewelry and shoes sound fine to me, but I agree with others, I'd select a more neutral polish color. How about a pale pink?

  • Yep, I did my nails in the glitter ombre (the top one doeydo posted) and the were great: really fun to look at, but not very noticeable in the pictures.
  • Thanks guys! I'll definitely go with something more neutral for my nails.

I think french manicures are extremely dated. Actually, a friend recently posted a pic on facebook from around the year 2002 and commented "I'm wearing a TUBE TOP! and I have a FRENCH MANICURE! Oh lord!", and we all had a good laugh, so it's not just me that thinks this!

But a neutral color, pale pink, beige-ish, or even a pearlescent white/ivory would be very simple and pretty.

I'm actually having a similar debate with myself. My dress is ivory with very ornate silver beading, and I have a flower accessory for my hair (ivory, also has some bling on it). I'm thinking silver dangly earrings, but red shoes and red nails.
