Finally found the dress in a store!

I finally found the dress that I've been searching for in a store a block from my work. I've been looking for this dress for an unhealthy amount of time, and I finally found it close enough to try on! 

I really hope I don't get let down and disappointed with it.

Any tips on what to wear underneath when dress shopping? I've gone once and I don't think I prepared correctly.

Hooray! Full coverage underwear (nude or white) and a good strapless bra. 

It helped me to make sure my hair and makeup was done as well.

I don't know about y'all, but I hate shopping when I don't look put together. Especially under harsh, fluorescent dressing room lights, I look at everything and think I look bad in it.

I always look so washed out when trying on clothes in a dressing room. Last time I went, it was a small shop with big windows, so it was more natural lighting, but this place is bigger than that and definitely has fluorescent lighting.

That dress is gorgeous! 

I wore nude boyshorts and I brought a strapless bra with me as well. I did my makeup like I normally do except I went a little heavier on my eyes so it would show up more in pictures. I wore my hair down but ended up pulling it back when I really liked a dress to get a better idea of how I'd look the day of.

I always loved that Lazaro dress.  I know that Allure has a dress that is pretty much the same exact thing except that they don't have the blush color.

That is very similar to the dress that I had made for my wedding. It is beautiful! Nude underwear and a strapless bra is what I brought when I tried on dresses.

Like PP's said, it helps to not look like you just rolled out of bed either.

Maggie0829 I keep looking for that dress, but I cannot find it anywhere! Makes me so mad! But yeah, I'm hoping I can try this dress with the blush color. I prefer that color. 

vk2204 I tend to roll outta bed and run around during errands, so I should probably get ready for this. I need to find some nude underwear and a better strapless bra, I think my bra is from high school still.

@Kelcita21 - I like the blush color as well. It isn't an in your face blush but rather something subtle but yet different. If that made any sense at all LOL!

Honestly, if don't need to buy a strapless bra now, wait until you figure out what dress you want and get one that you can wear with it instead of having to maybe get a new one later on the road. Because the back of that dress is so low I had my seamstress sew cups into for me because you'd be able to see a regular bra otherwise.

Maggie0829 - Exactly!! I always thought white dresses were the way to go, but honestly I look to pale and washed out in white. This blush is at such a nice shade that it isn't too obnoxious, and yet still bridal. I can't stop swooning over it.

@Kelcita21 - I now want to have a PPD just to get that dress and wear it.  In fact I would love to have about 50 PPD just to wear multiple wedding dresses because there are so many great ones out there.

I hope when you try it on you swoon over just as much as you are swooning over the picture!

I wore boy shorts but David's Bridal gave me a slip and a strapless corset thing to wear underneath the dresses so I didn't have to stand in my underwear while they were helping me in dresses.

I really think boyshorts are the best idea because I need to keep all that tucked away. 

Are there specific brands that cover gut and top part of thighs? I'm extremely self conscious about my body. This winter has kept me indoors and stuck with no car and ways to cardio exercise, so my body has really let go and I am not proud of it.

Check out Maidenform.  They have the control top undies, which sounds like what you're going for.  And they're not terribly expensive.

I've also noticed that TJ Maxx and Marshall's usually have something similar.

Perfect, thank you! I have a TJ Maxx right by me. Usually a ton cheaper than retail. I will look for that name! I've been meaning to look for something like that for my other random dresses I wear.

My underwear didn't matter because they didn't put me into the dresses like they do on tv. She hung them all the my dressing room and said here put them on and stood outside waiting to clip the back once it was on. I didn't have a problem getting any on myself, but maybe because they were all fit n flare that I just stepped into, no complicated ball gowns?

My other time experience has the woman helping me into each gown, fit and flares, ballgowns, etc. And my butt was always near her face since I had to wiggle my hips into everything. Definitely felt like my regular underwear was not right for that and I needed more coverage.
