Have you thought about having your gown made for you? It can often be done cheaper, or for the same as buying one in the store and paying for alterations. Then, it's also all your own! You can bring in a look you like and have them make it to fit you. You can google seamstresses in Milwaukee or Waukesha.

I know David's Bridal carries them. I bought my dress there and had a good experience. I know Eva's has some too.

It's a little bit of a ride, but Vera's House of Bridals in Madison is great.  I was a plus-sized bride and was really frustrated.  I saw an ad for Vera's, noting that they carried full-figured dresses and thought why not?  I was a little shocked when I got there because there were only a handfull of dresses on the floor, but you work with consultant, they get to know you and then they head to the 3 floors of wedding dresses in back and bring them to you.  They are good.  I ended up with the second dress she brought in!  The whole team was so nice and helpful that it made up for the hour ride I had to take to get there.
