I’m wondering if anyone who has used Cakes by Stephanie can offer me some feedback? Her prices are almost too reasonable to believe so I’m wondering how the cakes are! And if anyone wants to suggest any other affordable cake baker I’d appreciate it!! Thanks!

We are using Cakes by Stephanie for our September 2010 Wedding. We sampled her cakes for our Birthday in May. Everyone that had a piece thought that the cakes were good. I thought it was worth the price. I was a little skeptical at first to about how low the cost was, but in the end we decided to go for it. I have heard good things about her on the knot previously.

We used Cakes by Stephanie for our September wedding and people are still talking about how good the cake was.  We had the white almond cake with raspberry filling and butter cream frosting.  Very worth the cost, even figuring that we paid for two sample cakes.  Highly recommend her, the whole experience was good!

The white almond/raspberry cake was so so good.  We ended up with far fewer guests than I ordered cake for, but every last piece was gone.  People are still talking about how good the cake was.The only potentially negative that I could see about Cakes by Stephanie is if you want a very elaborate cake.  IMO, she does a great job with more classic cakes.  We wanted a classic, square, tiered, white cake with dots, nothing too fancy.  The cake turned out exactly how we imagined and the price is unbeatable.  Stephanie is frequently at bridal shows, we found her at the one in Waukesha last November.  I recommend that you find her at a bridal show and try several flavors of her cake.  She does make you purchase a sample cake before you book, but the price is still cheaper than anywhere else we looked at.  It was $20, but we just used the sample cake as a birthday cake.

Thanks for the help! I unfortunately will be out of town during the expo in Nov. in Waukesha but am going to order a couple of her sample cakes for sure. That white almond with raspberry does sound delish. My fiancé also likes carrot cake. And good to hear about the simplicity because we are definitely going with a small simple cake and some sheet cake. Her prices are so great!

I used Cakes by Stephanie for my June 2009 wedding.  We did cupcakes.  While I was a little disappointed at how small the cupcakes were, they were decorated exactly how I wanted and displayed exactly how I wanted.  I think Stephanie just loves doing cakes for weddings and will work with you on whatever you want.  The flavors are really good and frosting delicious.  We had our cupcakes displayed in a traditional wedding cake style even including the fountain - call me old-fashioned but I loved it and it photographed really well.  Definitely a good choice if you don't want to blow your budget on a cake.
