And the tears have finally fallen

You know up till now, I have been pretty cool and collective this whole wedding process. Up until now I have had one, just one "oh shit"/panic attack.

This week has been really the last straw. My dad injured his back, They don't know what wrong, he either fractured it or severely injured a disk. He has an MRI next week to find out. If its either he needs surgery, surgery recovery time is anywhere from 10-24 weeks depending what it is. Today on my drive home I finally realized that he may not make it too my wedding. I don't know if he will be cleared to fly or not. The doctor pretty much laughed at him when he asked about flying in 11 weeks, and respond with a something like "yeah maybe by summer you can fly"

So what I do, if he can't make it? We didn't have a back up plan, none of us planned for this to happen.

Ok on one other note, a friend of mine eloped in dec and my other friends did their video shooting ( I love their work), I want to share it because it makes my heart skip a beat.

  • :( I hope your dad is ok to travel, you must be so worried.

If he can't, can you do a live link via Skype or something? I know it's not the same :(
  • I know this sounds crazy but what about a reschedule. Or get married where he can be there like a justice of the peace?
  • Kiki I will cross my fingers your dad is okay to travel by your wedding date.

  • Thanks everyone! Its been a stressful week and we won't know more until his MRI.

A reschedule would be hard to pull off. Everyone is pretty much booked already. Not to mention my venue is booking 18 months out in advance. I talked to my chiropractor (her husband is chief of emergency at our trauma hospital) today about it, and she said there is many ways around it. Like he could get an nerve blocker injected which would last up too a week to allow him to fly and stuff. She said as long as he makes it clear that it is important to him they will work with him getting there.
