Help! Bridesmaids dresses from Jasmine Bridal - Wrong Color

2 of my 3 bridesmaids live out of state, so we shopped for bridesmaids dresses online. The dress everyone liked, B2 B163006 from Jasmine Bridals, came in a color called sweet pea. It appeared to be a beautiful pale pink, and our wedding colors are blush and grey. I know that colors can appear slightly different online, but the dresses came in and are BUBBLE GUM PINK. The color is not even close to what was presented online.

I contacted the shop we placed our order over phone through, and they emailed me pictures of the actual B2 Jasmine dresses in their shop. What I discovered is that our "Sweet Pea" dress is an exact match for the color Cosmopolitan online (NOT what we ordered). The picture of Sweet Pea online is actually a match for New Shell Pink in person. When I contacted Jasmine about the discrepancy on their website they flat out told me I was wrong.

Has anyone else had this problem? I tried to upload my photos that show the above, but for some reason the "attach file" function isn't working for me. I'll try again. At the very least, I would tell other brides/maids to avoid Jasmine dresses or the shop (B. Ella Bridal in Plymouth). They have not been helpful! It is 5 weeks until my wedding and I have bridesmaids with dresses that match NOTHING in our wedding. :(

Re: Help! Bridesmaids dresses from Jasmine Bridal - Wrong Color

  • I had a similar situation. My bridesmaids dresses are WTOO though. The color on the website was COMPLETELY different from what actually came in...there's no way it was just the lighting or the screen resolution. I ordered a swatch which was not the same as the online color, but then the dress came in and it didn't even match the swatch! Ours came in too late to do anything with it also. Oh well...what can you do.
  • that sucks; but unfortunately that is common with online shops.  The color of my bridesmaids dresses online looked completely different to what they actually looked like in store and even compared to just a little swatch (and we just used Davids Bridal).  I ended up changing my color once I saw the two colors in the store on an actual dress.  I was baffled by how different it looked!

you can try to fight it; look at the contract and see what the return policy is but if they are resisting threatening small claims court may get them to work with you.  But with 5 weeks to go you either need to suck it up and make it work, or go to plan b and help your girls find new dresses.  If you use their dresses though you can't fight returning them later.  Even if the color does not match your wedding colors perfectly at least the girls will match.  Does the color compliment your colors in any way or will it stand out dramatically?  It may all just pull together, and at the end of the day no one will care if the color is different. No one will really know unless you tell them.  I was in a friends wedding whose "wedding colors" were a sage green, ivory and tan, but our dresses were a dark brown. It all pulled together nicely with the flowers and other decor and it made no difference that the dress color was not an "official color."  Maybe you can play off the brighter dress colors with some lighter flowers or find a pretty shall in the lighter pink to pull it all together?

  • i looked online at your dress i also chose jasmine dresses  most of my maids live out of state so my salon took there measurements over the phone and deposits. we did jasmine L3001 one shoulder in long in the color sea glass my salon had swatches of all the colors, i see the sweet pea color online but can you send over a picture of your dresses to compare.

both the new shell and the sweet pea look almost identical in color, could the salon have ordered you sweet pea and there was a mix up on the dresses on jasmines end? the tags are on your dresses what do they say for colors?
