Affordable Reception Venues

Do you have any suggestions for affordable reception venues? We have 75 people and a budget of 4k for the reception & ceremony (so would prefer a location where we can do both) this includes budget for cake and DJ. I have already looked at all of the places listed under the local vendors that are in the $-$$ category. Right now our top two are Noveau Art Bar and Belle Rose Maison, any thoughts on those as well? I'm trying to plan from Colorado so this is very overwhelming not knowing the city at all (FI grew up in Houston). Our date is flexible, we could go for a Friday or a Saturday in May 2015.

We got married at the 1940 air terminal museum. It was $2500. Our catering was about $3000, and and alcohol was about $1000. The museum allows pretty much any caterer and you can bring in your own beer and wine. They are very accommodating. It's in a somewhat shady part of town, but it's a gem. We loved it!

We had our reception at the Nouveau Antique Art Bar…it was fantastic.  We got the facility, staff, open bar (well brands, beer, wine and soda) for 4 hours, for 160 for about $4500.  Your package will likely be less if your guest list is smaller.  I used Butter and Company as my caterer and they were very reasonable.  They worked with my budget and the food was fantastic!!  Also the bar has a huge, private parking lot.  It looks like a dive from the outside, but inside is gorgeous!  Oh and he has a DJ booth, and Clark (the owner) was really helpful and worked with our vendors very well.

@marriedlady1212 did you have music, cake, photographer, wedding dress? Just curious if your wedding was in @mountainlove33 price range of 4k.  If so, I applaud you!

@sprogar1188 We paid $500 for the DJ, $100 for our cakes (HEB), our photographer was $2300 (he included 10 hours shooting the day of, an engagement session and all of our photos, 1000 of them), and my dress was purchased for me and was not in the budget

Our wedding was not in the $4000 budget, but it's totally doable. @mountainlove33, if you want any help or have any questions, let me know. I loved planning our wedding and I'm pretty creative when it comes to having a great party within a budget.
