Everyone give a fun fact or something that no one here might know about you. Because I'm bored.

I volunteered and worked on a house that was was on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I still have the sweatshirt.

Re: Fun Facts

  • Awesome, Bri! In kinda-sorta the same vein, I and a bunch of friends got our honors group in college together one summer, drove down to North Carolina, and spent a week building a house for Habitat for Humanity. It was the best thing ever.
  • @BriSox81 - That is so cool!

I don't know that I have a fun fact, other than I was able to go to Greece and Turkey when I was 15. On that trip, I went skinny dipping for the first time, and drank in clubs. Oh and pissed in a hole.

  • Fun Fact: My last semester of college, I thought that I wanted to do something that I always wanted to do since I was a kid, and decided to see if I would actually want to do it for a living and get paid squat so I volunteered at my local aquarium to see if I wanted to pursue getting a masters in marine biology. I found out that it was something I didn't want to do! It was fun, but it's hard work. Fun fact 2: beluga whales are assholes, penguins are nice when you feed them.

I think if I had the opportunity to do field research, I probably would've changed my mind. I have an issue with animals in captivity. Don't get me wrong, the animals were treated great, but I think I would've wanted to see them in their natural habitat and observe and research that instead.

  • @CLoGreenEyes- H used to do that with his Dad all the time, I believe his Dad worked with Habitat for Humanity at a time so he would help out all the time with building and painting.

I traveled Europe as an infant as most people travel Europe as adults mainly because I was born in Germany while my Dad was serving in the Army and we got to visit the coolest places ever. Do I remember them? NOPE! Thanks parents!

I feel like that was a Debbie Downer Fun Fact...so here is a better one!

I met President Jimmy Carter randomly on my 8th grade South Georgia Trip for school. He was visiting the same town we were in and the bus stopped so we could all say hello to him.

  • I just had to zip my fly up in the hallway of my office building for the second time this week. Two completely different pairs of pants, same joke of a person forgetting to complete that step while in private.

  • I just ate a dark chocolate and almond bar, and it was glorious.  that's all I've got, folks.

@severmilli12 I seriously thought that was going to turn out so much worse. Like he turned out to be a creepy 50 something year old man or something. Yay for the fun story!

Fun fact: I got to live in Germany from when I was 2 to 5 years old and we travelled all over the place and I remember most of it! So HAH @southernpeach89. We visited Berlin both pre and post Berlin Wall coming down and have huge chunks of graffiti painted rocks AND pictures of me in front of the wall without people in the background going at it with chisels and hammers. We also visited Italy, England, and drove through France briefly.

Another fun fact: I have an orientation coming up on March 8th so I can start volunteering at a local horse rescue. I am SOOOO excited. You have to attend an orientation before you can just start showing up and it's killing me that I'm having to wait for the next orientation class.

Another another fun fact (sort of): I was flown twice from Germany to Walter Reed Army Medical in DC because I had strange lumps on my leg that the Army doctors in Germany thought were cancer but were unable to accurately diagnose so I was sent to see a specialist. We spent several weeks in the hospital on both trips and I ended up having to have the lumps surgically removed. They turned out to be completely benign but now I have a long scar and slight indentation on my left shin from the surgery. I was on the kid's cancer ward and I have memories of kids in such worse condition than I was in since I was basically healthy and so many of them were weak or extremely sick or even dying. It was really sad.

  • @lmhollister- I remember the important things at that age (3) such as the playground and my bedroom with all my toys...duh so get off me!
  • My Fun Fact:  I was born by appointment (c-section).  The doctor was superstitious so he chose my birthday to be the March 14 - March 13 and I would have had Friday 13 birthdays and March 15 would be the Ides of March.  Albert Einstein was born on the same day and is 100 years my senior.  I was also told that the doctor that delivered me was shot after delivering a stillborn baby and the parents blamed him for it (this was years after I was born).

  • I can remember the telephone number and full address of my house in Philly which I haven't lived in in 20 years.

  • I've been dancing for 30 years.

  • @severmilli12 I'm still friends with some people I met online around that time. Crazy isn't it?

Not so fun fact: I have insanely sensitive hearing. Noises, even quiet ones, drive me crazy especially in the office. My coworker two rows down is sniffling and I just want to throw a box of tissues at him.

  • Oh! I thought of a weird coincidence.

The house that my parents (ma and stepdad) favored for renting at the vacation spot they frequented turned out to be the house that my biological father's grandparents lived in for their first few years of marriage. The vacation spot was my birth place, so there was that, but of all the houses in that town...

  • Fun Fact:  I bit my nails obsessively until about 2 months ago.  I think I've FINALLY broken the habit.

Fun Fact:  I am flying to NY this weekend to go wedding dress shopping with BFF.  I haven't told her yet, but I'm going to pay for her wedding dress.  I can't WAIT to see her face when she finds out.

Fun Fact:  When I met DH, I knew he was different than anyone I'd ever met.  In a good way.  Nevertheless, I planned on having a fuckbuddy relationship with him.  Psh.  That worked out well.

Fun Fact:  I've lived in 4 states:  New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Illinois.
  • Fun fact: I've live in three states. Pennsylvania, Florida twice and Michigan.

Fun fact: I used to be fluent in sign language. I haven't done it in so long I forget most of it.

Fun fact: I was 3 lbs 2 oz when I was born and in an incubator for a month
  • Hmm, a fun fact about me? Let's see ...

I have an unnatural obsession with Futurama. To the point that I didn't even watch "Into the Wild Green Yonder" until I knew Futurama was coming back to Comedy Central. And the first four seasons are definitely the best.
  • All of my exs, and even my H, drive cars with manual transmissions. None have convinced me I am capable of driving their cars on actual roads (just in parking lots).

Also, every guy I have said I love you to graduated from my high school, and they all used to know each other in one way or another. None were friends though.
  • I went skydiving for my 18th birthday, and it was so awesome, but I would never do it again because I'm scared now haha.

  • For shits and giggles the homecoming dance pic is attached. My only regret in this pic is the absence of his abs.

  • @lalalauriata - I have sensitive hearing too! One of my co-workers chews SO loudly and it makes me want to scream! It's just those small background noises that can just send me into a rage because it's so so annoying!!

@KeptInStiches - Futurama is the best!

Fun Fact - BF and I have a zombie plan and not just in a hypothetically this is fun to think about way...we fully intend on investing in our plan to make it a reality.

  • @dignity100 my whole body is tired. Actually a lot of times my body aches for no reason, or aches when its about to rain or snow.

    Anniversary

  • My senior year of high school, I was going to tell my parents I was spending the weekend with my BFF and instead fly to California to see my ex BF. Then I found out he only wanted me to come out so he could finally sleep with me. The week of the trip, I cancelled.

I ended up using my plane tickets 10 months later to go to the armpit of Texas and visit a boy that broke up with me two weeks after I visited him. I'm pretty positive he's gay, but because of the conservative Christian culture he's a part of, he'll never admit it. But he feels free to tell me where my place is as a woman.

From the ages of 6-18, when I heard my dad's car pulling into the driveway, I would find somewhere in the house to hide and jump out and scare the piss out of him. He did the same thing if, by some random chance, he beat me home. I did this to H when we were first dating and he got so scared the first time I did it, he accidentally hit me, thinking I was an intruder. I don't jump out at him anymore, but it was a REALLY hard habit to break.

I'm watching USA - Canada hockey right now and every time I hear Bergeron's name, I get excited. He plays for Canada and I keep forgetting he's a "bad guy" in this game.

@swazzle - was he a devil? I'm doing well keeping track of all the Bruins that have become Stars in the last 12 months. Being a new hockey fan is hard.

ETA: fun fact - there were/are 6 Bruins in the Olympics. Not a single one played/s for USA.

  • @suzie211 I like your reference to the yellow umbrella moments.  FI & I were the same way.  I met him once or twice before we began dating but we were both in relationships and had tons of mutual friends in common.
