Okay to wear white dress to engagement party?

I'm eying a very cute little cream colored cocktail dress that I'm thinking would be cute to wear to my engagement party my mother and family friend are throwing for me in July. Is it inappropriate to wear a white/cream colored dress to your engagement party?

I wouldn't even begrudge a guest from wearing white to an engagement party. It's just a party, not a wedding. Enjoy.

I don't see why not. There are no rules about wearing white dresses outside of weddings.

I am not a fan of the bow on the dress; I feel like it makes it look too juvenile. But the dress itself is fine to ear to an engagement party, whether you are the bride or not.

I like the bow; to me it adds femininity.

I don't see why it wouldn't be okay to wear white. Obviously, you don't HAVE to -- but if you like the dress and the colour, go for it!
