Grand Geneva Resort for Mini-Moon??

Hi,

I am getting married outside of Chicago but FI and I are going to have to wait awhile to go on our HM so we were thinking of heading up to Lake Geneva for a day or two.  I have been looking for hotels and came across the Grand Geneva and they seem to run some specials on package offers with a room/dinner/couples massage/etc. but I have not been to Lake Geneva in so long that I was hoping you could help me out.

Is the Grand Geneva nice/worth the cost?

Is it near the actual lake?

Are there other places that you would recommend?

I live a few minutes from Lake Geneva and from the Grand Geneva Resort and will say it's a beautiful property.  It is located a few miles away from the downtown area/lake but an easy drive (not sure when you would be going but in the summer, it's a packed lake town). 
If you can get a special, go for it as it's normally a very expensive resort.  Ristorante Brissago (one of their restaurants) is delicous (but again pricey).  The resort does have many activities including horseback riding.
For a honeymoon, I would defintely recommend it. 

If you're looking at something closer to the lake, check out one of the bed and breakfasts or The Abbey Resort (on the other side of Lake Geneva, in Williams Bay).  It's not as nice (in my opinion) as the Grand however it is still really amazing and also has a spa.  You can always check out either spa for services if you stay outside of one of those resorts.   Definitely do a cruise around the lake: http://www.cruiselakegeneva.com/ (I'm actually getting married on one of the boats!)

FI and I stayed at the Grand Geneva for a weekend last winter for a getaway.  It was nice but I can't say I would pay that much money for a hotel room again.  The buffets and other restaurants were amazingly delicious.

I agree with the Abbey Resort!!
