I actually had to have it guess 3 times before it got my character correct .  It just keeps asking questions until it can't anymore.

I stumped it once. Then twice it almost had two of them (like it was reading my mind) but I ran out of credits conveniently right before it came to the answer...it did get Joan Dideon, though.

Holy crap it guessed correctly- I was thinking of Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the valley of the wind.  That's the first Studio Ghibli movie and it came out ages ago, and its one of the lesser known titles, I really did not think it would guess that.

That was my first try as well and it got it! It also got Kel and Daine. I only tricked it with Janco from Maria Snyder's Poison Study. It got everything else I tried.

A few years ago when I did the Machu Picchu hike, I was in a tour group with 10 strangers from around the world. Each night at camp after we ate dinner we would all sit in a circle in socialize and play this game! It was really hard because you had to try and use someone that other countries would know, not just America. It was really fun though!

Agreed.  It did get a lot of random Canadian people though.  I beat it again with Jemima Jones, a main character from a Jane Smith book.  BAM!!
