Wedding Party

engraving for klean kanteen

ok! new bridesmaid gift idea. i feel very strongly about not using plastic for hot foods and beverages, so as part of my gift to my bridesmaids, i was going to get them each an insulated kleen kanteen (and then nice tea or coffee. they dont need any more mugs). i was thinking to engrave something on the bottle, but im not sure what. i know that no one wants the wedding date on it. their names? an inside joke? i feel that the engraving would add a more personal touch to the bottle. id love ideas!

That's nice that you feel that way about plastic, but do they? I just had to Google what a Klean Kanteen was and I certainly have no use for one... Unless you know that they do, I'd get something more directed to their likes and hobbies. They don't all have to be given the same thing...
  • I would put their names on it. This way if they put it down somewhere they will know it's theirs since their name is on it (especially if they use them on the wedding day & they are all the same color). If you order them through LLBean you can have them personalized through them.
  • Are you sure your bms will use those? There are a bunch of them on the top shelf of my pantry closet. They were given to my children as graduation gifts, welcome to college gifts etc...They used them once because they're a PITA to clean - I know because I'm the one who cleaned the dried up coffee/hot chocolate yuck out of them.

At any rate, if you get engraved gifts, put their initials on them, if they like that sort of thing. You can personalize any gift, by including a heartfelt note to each girl.

  • oh yes, im not worried about the use part. it's great having a traveling thermos, and the insulated ones dont sweat or anything (i have 2 and love them. also, i am not being paid to advertise them or anything, just fyi).

i am giving them individual gifts, but i would like to give them one uniting gift. they can wear whatever jewelry they want, they picked their own dress styles (i picked color), all that jazz. that's why i wanted to get this, with tea or coffee, and have that be the uniting gift. which is where the engraving is coming in.

  • This isn't really my cup of tea (pun intended), but I think if you are going to get them engraved you should just have their first names put on them.
