We are looking for a DJ, and found one that didn't have a short video about himself/ sample of his work.  I asked if he could send me a sample of his work, and he wrote back that he couldn't due to copyright issues.

1)  Is it a red flag that he doesn't have a video about himself/ his work?  I understand that he couldn't just give us a CD of music, but I don't think it should be that shocking to him to be asked for a video of his work if we haven't been to an event where he has DJ'ed before.
2)  How should I phrase it so that he knows I just want to see a video of his work?

Sorry, I hope I'm making sense.

    Sometimes you can utube the DJ or they will have a link on there site.  I'm having trouble finding prices on-line for their services. Best Wishes.

    I have only gotten vids from one dj and none of them included him speaking, which bugged me.  I'm interested in this subject too as we are hot on the dj search as we speak.

    Apparently this DJ has a YouTube video, he took it off his main website, because it opened with Old Time Rock 'n Roll and apparently some people hate that song.

    Side note:  If I hear "Let's get this party started" on one more DJ's page.. I might explode.

    @grumbledore- Does the DJ have anyone who you can contact to give you a testimonial?  Perhaps you can contact vendors in the area that he has worked with and ask how they liked him/ what his style was.  I talked to the DJ in question on the phone, and he seemed incredibly nice and laid back- far from the jokester/ AW DJ that I want to stay away from.
