Our wedding is in New Orleans in June. I am a native and my fiance is from Alabama so about half local and half out of town guests. We are trying to get the menu together and any ideas or suggestions would be helpful!
This is what we have so far:
- An assortment of finger sandwiches: turkey, ham, etc, mini mufulettas, and BLT sandwiches
- 7 hor d'voeuvres
Fried Catfish filets, crab cakes, shrimp remoulade cups, eggplant parm, stuffed baked potatoes, bacon wrapped shrimp, shrimp chardonnay
- Caesar salad
- Roast beef carving station
- 3 entrees
Gumbo (can't decide between seafood or chicken/sausage), crawfish monica, and some kind of chicken option (cajun chicken fettuccine alfredo, garlic chicken with penne, or chicken pesto pasta)
Does this seem like a well balanced menu? We don't have any guests that are vegetarians/vegans. We have one guest allergic to shell fish who can eat the roast beef, chicken entree, salad, and a few of the appetizers. There are plenty other entree and appetizer options that I can change out to these are just the ones that I am starting with.
