Most are pretty tacky and I think it only works well when the wedding is a more affair.

Those kind of things just confuse people.

We had a DW and we tried to be funny and our options were:

Bags are packed!

Stuck on the mainland

(or something similar to that)

People couldn't figure it out.  

So my vote is, don't do it.

I saw that article earlier today. I think a couple of them are cute but the rest are tacky/annoying/confusing.

I think althought it made me laugh, the one about GIFTS is actually super duper tacky.

The one with the child made me chuckle...not LOL or anything, but it wasn't terrible.  Now some of the others were just plain rude!  Esp. the mentioning of gifts!!! I really hope that one was fake.

haha, i actually liked the first one, about being "truthful" (enthusuastically attend/regretfully decline/regretfulyl attend/enthusuastically decline) - not that i would actually do it, i just think it's funny - i'm sure all of us have checked the "yes" line while bitching and moaning in our heads about how we *really* don't want to go...

Our RSVPs were the 'bells' one. People LOVED THEM (or at least that's what they told us).

We had no one get confused (as has been posited as a potential problem by other people), we had no one incorrectly fill them out (unless you count the people who RSVP'd for a plus-one when they weren't given one), we had no one question how to fill them out.

They worked for us, and our personalities (I actually say 'with bells on' IRL), and everyone invited to the wedding knew us and our senses of humour well enough to see the humour and smile.

Whether they would work for anyone else, I don't know, but they did work for us -- and I did have people, for MONTHS (both before and after the wedding) tell me how much they LOVED our RSVP cards.

I love the bells one, and the "insert creative excuse here", but most of the rest kinda made me cringe.

The bells one made me giggle, largely because I could see a good friend using it, and then singing, and possibly handing out bells, should he ever get married. I also liked the food selection one *no children will be eaten, because I'm sure that selection would have lead to confusion for people without kids who were invited.

One of our Snarky Brides left out the asterisk by accident and got quite a few jokes about it from her family.

Sooo torn! The polite and good side of me wants to say they are extremely rude and tacky but my snarky side let out a chuckle! Would I send them out? Oh hell no!

Tacky - but I love them -And plan to do something a little different than the norm -similar to one of these options.

I think some of them might be fake, including the REALLY long one, and the Nic Cage one.

The bells one would do really well in my family. The "Child* meal option" one would probably be funny to them as well (some of my partner's family would be irritated, though).

Some of them are tacky and rude, but some are cute and funny.  I think it really depends on how you do it.  You need to make sure that the choices are very clear.  It also reduces the formality of the invite, so you shouldn't do it for a very formal invite or wedding.

For my destination cruise wedding, we did something similar, and everyone loved it (or at least that's what they told us). Our choices were something along the lines of:

__ I love weddings and cruises!  I am thrilled to be able to join you for both the wedding and the cruise.

__ I love weddings, but sunburn easy... I will happily be there to celebrate your wedding, but am unable join you for the cruise.

__ We are sadly unable to attend the wedding or cruise, but we will be sending our best wishes from home.

"Regretfully accept" and "enthusiastically decline" made me LOL, I've definitely felt both ways when rsvp'ing...the rest are kind of dumb.

I kind of liked the idea of asking what song will get them dancing... especially if you are going for a more casual vibe I actually didn't think that one was too bad.

Me too. It might be trying to be "fun" but to me it's kind of making a mockery. I don't want my wedding to appear a big joke before people even get there.

Laughed out loud at the "regretfully attend/enthusiastically decline" one, the bells one, and the *Child one. 

Really wish I had done one of those.

The first one and the bells one would honestly go over really well with our family and friends. We're most likely sticking to the standard RSVP cards, but might print up a handful of goofy ones for a couple of friends who would laugh their asses off at them.
