So, the future Mr. Me and I are thinking about getting tattooed wedding bands. I love ink, and he's not big on jewelry so it kind of works. But going this route presents a couple of questions - I'm hoping there are other brides out there that can help!!
1. During the ceremony, what do we do during the part where we'd normally exchange rings? Do we omit it all together, or exchange purely symbolic rings?
2. When would be the best time to get the tattoos done? If we do them before the ceremony, we'd have to do it at least a few weeks before, since they'd have to be healed by the time we go on honeymoon (I'm not going to Jamaica and NOT swimming!!). But I don't know if I want my "wedding ring" until I'm actually married. I'm kind of traditional that way! Or do we get them after the honeymoon? Which means we're wearing either "placeholder" rings until that time, or no rings at all.
I'm so confused! Any thoughts?
