Not wearing white.. Need help! What color should my bridesmaid dresses be?

I found my dress *yay* I love it.

The tulle overlay is blush, and there is gold/champagne detailing. The top portion is ivory.
I have already ordered these lovely gold chiavari chairs and plan to use ivory linens. The wedding is going to be in the summer. It will be intimate, held in my mothers backyard and I'd like to stay with a vintage, rustic feeling.

So my problem is now figuring out what color to put my two bridesmaids in.
Blush pink worries me because it could end up being a lot of pink in pictures.
MOH looks awful in gold/champagne and neutral light brown tones.
Ivory doesn't seem like it would really look great, but maybe?
My only other thought is a bluish green mint color which I think would be beautiful, but my mother did not agree.

HELP! Please :)

  • Go to the store and try on your gown.  Have the sales consultant hold up different colors next to you until you see one that you like.  Dark rose, lavender?

  • Ivory, darker rose pink, coral, slate gray, silver. Blush is pretty neutral. Gold and ivory are definitely neutral. So you can do pretty much anything.
  • I think your BMs could wear any one of the colours you mentioned in your OP.  Below are some pictures to help you imagine the way everything might look together.

Or, you could let the bridesmaids pick their own dresses as long as they 'go' with the colours, example:

  • Taupe looks great with blush too.

  • I like the rose or slate gray ideas above. Maybe a dusty rose, but then have the bouquets and other accents a non-pink color. Ivory is also nice in my opinion. It could be cool to have you in blush and them in ivory when usually it's the other way around.
  • I would think navy dresses would be amazing with your color scheme.

  • Oo I like the navy idea. With gold/champagne accents. The mint green is very "in" I think but I agree with your mom on this one, it feels too Easter to me in combination with the pink.
  • Champagne
  • What a pretty dress!  My dress is different but also ivory / gold.  Didn't have a chance to read all the PP, but I am using navy whch I think is flattering for the BMs and you will pop against it.
  • Hey we are dress sisters! Beautiful gown, huh?

My BM's are wearing DB's pink and rosewood.

    Good luck!

ETA: i just realized you said you were looking for a vintagey feel. That's why we went with Rosewood actually. It's a really beautiful color and goes very well with the dress.
I completely forgot I had posted this! I'm blaming bride brain.

What color did you go with for your bridesmaids? I finally just got frustrated and decided to have their dresses custom made. They are mint with an ivory lace overlay and they are fantastic. I'm jealous that you get to wear your dress so soon! I hope everything is perfect for you, I know at least the dress will be ;-)

I also think that the navy would look amazing with that dress, and ditto for the grey. I was surprised by how many different shades of champagne and brown looked very pretty with it and I think straight ivory would have worked as well but I was set on the mint. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
