Wedding Etiquette Forum

My skin just crawled.

I am no etiquette queen by any means. I burp out loud because I'm decently loud and when I fart I giggle because I'm 25 and still think it's funny. BUT, this made my skin crawl and I might have yelled WTF out loud in public.

A friend from high school posted on Facebook: "A DATE HAS BEEN SET!!!! Our limit will be 100 people so please respond back to me if you'd like to attend via text or inbox...Thank you!"

What? I just had to share.

I think that's it. They aren't, or their thinking stops at the end of their skin.

People need to just stop using social media for every aspect of their lives

Exactly! I sit here and I ponder....

Seems some people aren't all that far different from zombies in today's society. No brains up there. Or they are a live scarecrow!

I used social media to collect the mailing addresses of all my college friends who are on Facebook. I also built a quick website (dylanandjulia.com) to use as a dumping ground for information pertinent to the wedding. I'm an illustrator/designer, so it wasn't a big deal.

That said, I mailed out actual save the dates and invitations. I have to draw the line somewhere.... And how are old people supposed to know about the wedding if they're not on facebook?

  • @mrshutzler It's totally different and acceptable to send people a private message on facebook asking for their addresses. It's not OK to just post asking for addresses from every one of your facebook friends if you don't intend to invite them all.

Exactly! Social media is useful, but it's just one tool.
