Restaurants for Rehearsal Dinners

Hi Ladies,

My fiancé and I are having trouble finding an affordable restaurant for the rehearsal dinner.  Originally it was going to be hosted at my mom's house, but she has decided that she does not want to host it, so now we're scrambling for ideas. My hubby to be also has a big family so we're trying to find a nice restaurant in Detroit or surrounding city.  All ideas welcome!!

  • Andiamo (many locations)

I had my at DeLuca's in Garden City, about 40 people.

  • We have a lot of family functions at DeLucas. Funerals, reunions, rehearsals. Good food. Good service.
  • I think we're going with Sweet Lorraine's (Southfield, but they have a Livonia location too)... the food there is really good and the prices are reasonable for the quality (and they don't charge higher rates for "banquet pricing" like a lot of places we looked at do). Rosie O'Grady's in Ferndale was another on our short list but we were concerned about parking since our dinner would be the opening night of a street fair. Downtown proper, maybe Foran's Grand Trunk Pub? They have a nice little private upstairs section. Champp's and Bahama Breeze do a really nice job with events too.

  • Eastside Mario's in Livonia has a private room, and they set up a menu of 5 items for your guests to order from. We had ours there.

We've also had events in the private room at Roger's Roost in Sterling Hts. Great food, large portions
