I am actually incredibly sad that I forgot about pi(e) day!! Last year I brought pie pops to work, and those would certainly make a Friday better!

FI proposed 2 years ago on Pi Day, my favorite holiday (with Tau day a close second). We've always celebrated it, and I'll be making a s'mores pie tonight. There will be homemade vegetable lo mein for dinner, where I will also serve copious amounts of mead.

I went on a date with my high school boyfriend (at the time, my high school crush) on Pi Day because Pi Day was a thing for us. The date was terrible.

No -- I actually have a very well-developed sense of humour, both on- and off-line.

That sense of humour simply doesn't extend to jokes that reduce women to mere sexual objects to be used at the whim of a man. Call me crazy, but I don't find inequality and debasement funny.

Also, ':D' implies a grin, note a joke. I took it to mean that you were very excited about reminding your particular gentleman about why he's marrying you.

The whole point of steak/bj day is to balance out Valentines Day, where traditionally it is the man giving to the woman. I thought you knew. Regardless- I really don't appreciate you making assumptions about equality or value in my relationship.

But you've just made an assumption -- that the man gives to the woman on V-Day and she gives him nothing. I can't speak for anyone else in this thread, but that's not true in my relationship. 

We make assumptions on here all the time, based on what people post. You posted, with a big happy face smile, that the point of today was to show your FI why he's marrying you, and that to that end, you will be providing steaks and oral gratification.

From that,it's a logical deduction that you believe your FI is marrying you because you cook and put out.

I'm well aware of the origins of S&BJ Day, and have been for quite some time.

HisGirl is correct -- no assumptions were made. You made a statement about our collective relationships and the implication that the men in our lives are marrying us for sex (oral sex, in particular). You said "our" and "us" -- this leads us to believe that you are included in that statement. No assumption was necessary to come to the conclusion that you think that your most valuable asset as a partner is the ability to give blowjobs.
