Ooops...

That moment when your wedding is six months away & you should be watching what you eat, but you inadvertently eat an entire can of Salt and Vinegar Pringles while at the office.

And this comes on the heels of @loro929's post -- http://forums.theknot.com/discussion/1014559/things-you-do-in-an-office-job#latest

I am a danger to myself... seriously. LOL!

Re: Ooops...

  • We had a bunch of food catered at my work today for a 6 hour meeting and I definitely ate one too many desserts. Ugh.

Better than being 2 months away and eating a bagel for lunch, a lamb sandwich for dinner, and then chasing that with half a bag of tortilla chips and a third of a bottle of wine and some Toblerone.

I'm forcing myself back on the wagon today.

Edited because apparently, my brain thinks that lamb is duck after 2 glasses of wine.

@shrekspeare -- I'm going back to my intermittent fasting. I do 20 hours fasting (including sleeping hours), and then have a 4-hour 'feeding' window wherein I can eat a full day's worth of calories.

The traditional model is 18 hrs fasting and 6 hours feeding, but I've modified for my own body and tendencies. Once you hit 12 hours fasting your body starts to burn fat more efficiently. Also, any workouts during the fast period (after 12 hours) are more effective at targeting fat. This obviously is like any other lifestyle choice in that it works for some body types and not all, but it's worth looking into if you're okay with skipping a meal here and there, while still remaining healthy. I've been doing intermittent fasting off and on for about 2 years, and I find it highly effective for me.

Also note that your feeding window can be any time of day you want; you just schedule it for what works best for you, provided that they're consecutive feeding hours followed by consecutive fasting hours.

ETA: you can consume something during your fasting hours, provided that it's less than 50 cals, without taking your body out of fasting mode. This is helpful if you need to regulate blood sugar, etc.

  • 42 days to go and I had a giant cookie with my lunch. My dress has a corset back so I am good to go. :)
