Late Night Snack

So, yesterday as I was out with my Mom killing time before my dress fitting, FI sends me a text. He thinks we should bring in some munchies for our reception after the main food is done at about 7, and the reception doesn't technically end until 10. We're having a cookie bar, cake and I'm working on bringing in a milkshake truck as a surprise/gift for FI. So, I'm not opposed to a late night snack, (I suggested he ask the caterer about it instead of doing Chic Fil A like he originally suggested OUT OF FEAR HE'D BE ALL, OMG WE COULD HAVE CHIC FIL A MILKSHAKES) The caterer responded that we could really do whatever we wanted, and suggested sliders, pizza, etc.

So, help me come up with a late night snack that goes well with milkshakes?

    Yes.

    Yes. Yes. Yes.

    :P
  • Actually, on a more helpful (and less secret fatty) note:

I think hamburger sliders would be the most classic to pair with fries and shakes, but steak, crab, chicken, pulled pork, etc. would all be tasty.

    So pick whatever you enjoy!

You could even do different toppings (guac, pickles, onions, onion rings, bacon, etc.)!
  • Shakes and fries SCREAM for sliders!
  • Everything is better with bacon.

  • A company I used to work for used to hire the gourmet hot dog stands for late night munchies after open bar!

  • I want a milkshake truck.

  • Sliders, hot dogs, pulled pork, etc. You want savory and something not too rich so that it works well with the milkshake. For instance, pizza would be too much with all of the cheese but a good, slightly acidic pulled pork would be ridiculously awesome.

    Now I want to go!

  • I like the fried and sliders idea. When I was in highschool I used to dip my fries in the milkshake. It was so good.

There's a burger place near me that has a bacon burger -- as in, ground bacon in burger form. SO. GOOD.

Just out of curiosity (not because I'd want a bacon burger, or anything), where is "near me"? And (again, not because I'd come crash at your house or anything when I visit wherever "near me" is), do you have a guest bedroom?

Like I said, this has nothing to do with me wanting this alleged bacon burger. At all.

  • I would totally do a french fry bar. Different kinds of fries, toppings and sauces.

    I'm so hungry right now.
Oh I love the idea of a french fry bar!

Ummmm - that sounds like heaven and if I lived near that place I would easily be 300 pounds.

We're doing a poutine bar - Fries, gravy, cheddar cheese, cheese curds, green onions and bacon bits

SLiders, fries and milkshakes sounds delicious

Oh we have something like that around here too!

The only downside is that they won't cook the burgers less than medium. But they're still tasty!
  • Can I come to your wedding???  Another vote here for sliders, fries, and milkshakes!  Sounds great!
