Almost gave myself a heart attack

I almost gave myself a heart attack.

I was going through my wedding binder and saw I had 108 forever stamps.... NOT the stamps I'm using to mail the invitations....

I call my mom and she said that's because the forever stamps are going on the envelopes for people to return their RSVPs.

I now feel like an idiot for not remembering that....

  • Uhm...wow. That's a bit high-strung.

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'

LOL - I was thinking the same thing.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

Well, I forgot I had to buy stamps for the RSVP cards until MIL and I were assembling the invites and she asked about them. Oh yeah.....forgot about those!

But I also didn't have a wedding binder or planner or anything really, except separate folders in my Gmail to organize correspondence. I did almost everything via internet because I'm working and traveling most of the time. The florist was horrified when I told him I didn't want to come in and see samples, and to please just email me a picture of the centerpiece. Apparently brides care about these things....
  • My FI still doesn't even understand why we have both forever stamps and 70 cent stamps...

  • My FI got about 30 stamps because he thought anything more than that would be excessive spending on stamps.

We're sending out over 50 Save the Dates..
Oh, and don't forget about RSVP cards.

We had a good laugh about it.

I did also mention in an unrelated post- my friend started crying because she hated the stamps she got.  (She thought she was getting one, but they were out, so she got a different one and didn't like them.)  She called me a little while later and we had a good laugh about it.  I did take a moment to call her to let her know how terrific the new stamps looked when I got the invite :-P

    @HisGirlFriday13

Maybe. They're the same stamps I used on the Save the Dates so I thought I bought 2 times the amount for some reason without knowing it (although Save the Dates are already sent out). That's what my mind went to when I saw them. I totally wasn't even thinking about the invites. It's also been a bad / busy week so I have been tired and was tired when going through the binder.
  • OMG stamps. Most ridiculous headache ever. I sent my invitations out after the price hike but before the new stamps came in. I stressed way too much about the damn stamps before I realized that no one cares about stamps!

    So don't worry, be happy.

  • I'm so nonchelant about all the small stuff. I could send my intives with Christopher Walken stamps and not give a crap. Actually that would be cool...do they make those? lol

@cruffino Same here! I emailed the florist a picture of a bouquet I found online and said "make this" and they sent back a price and I went the next day to make the payment.

  • @jenna8984 If you find Christopher Walken stamps, please for the love of God, use them on your invites!  I want an invite just for the stamp...I honestly considered putting Toy Story stamps on the RSVP envelopes as a little inside joke between FI and my parents, but the sheets have varied Disney designs and I just really wanted Toy Story.  I'm considering getting the sheet and just doing my parents' with TS because I know my mom would love it.  But everyone else is getting "vintage seed packets" stamps on RSVPs and cakes on invites.

@cruffino I've also had to do almost everything online because our wedding is in my home state (MD) and we're 12 hours away (GA).  My mom volunteered to do tastings for us: I don't know if it's because she wants to help or she just wants tasty food, but either way I'm fine with it!  My caterer was just like, So you've never eaten here and can't taste the food, but you're willing to give us your money and trust us with your wedding food?  Okay...
