Nevada-Las Vegas

and then there was 2!

I've posted a few times on here about my wedding which involved me and a small number of my friends and family coming to vegas for our wedding. After a not so positive response from them we have decided to go to vegas on our own to get married and I couldn't be happier.
so now I'm back to looking for a smaller venue to get married and any advise about doing it with just 2 of us

Thanks xx

Re: and then there was 2!

  • What is your budget like?  If it were me and it was just the two of us I would totally splurge on a suite and really nice dinner somewhere and a photo strip tour!  You could even hire someone to marry you in the suite!  Maybe a couples massage in your room the morning of too!
We had our dream wedding at Mirage on May 3, 2014!

Yes we are going to have a spa. We have thought about the suite option but then we'd get married and want to go out so the room would be only used to sleep in. I love the sky terrace at mgm though.
The budget is hard because when there was more people coming it was about 6k that's not including the accommodation and flights (coming from the UK)
Do you have any recommendations on the photo strip tour you mentioned

    SO MANY OPTIONS!

If you are looking for spa options, I cannot recommend Mandarin Oriental enough. They have couples suites and a co-ed area, plus their spa has windows with views of the Strip. It's a little pricier, but it's honestly one of my favorite options on the Strip, other than Encore, perhaps. Some of the others remind me of dungeons because they are so deep in the hotel without windows.

There are lots of options for smaller weddings that just aren't available to larger guest lists, so take advantage! Places that spring to mind:

    Outdoors
    - Garden wedding at Flamingo, two options are only for groups of fewer than 15
    - In front of the Mirage Volcano
    - Bellagio fountain wedding
    - Red Rock Canyon, at Dedication Overlook or Red Spring at Calico Basin (gorgeous!)
    - Spa wall at MGM Signature
    - Eldorado Canyon ghost town
    - On a gondola at Lake Las Vegas

    Funky/Crazy
    - Neon Museum
    - In a biplane flying over Las Vegas (okay maybe a little noisy, but unforgettable)
    - Helicopter to Grand Canyon
    - Shark Reef wedding at Mandalay Bay
    - High Roller wheel weddings (should be opening soon)

    Private
    - Zen or Lakeside ceremony at Wynn Las Vegas (One is in the spa, which is crazy but beautiful, and the other is beside the Lake of Dreams)
    - Chihuly Gallery or Spa wedding at Aria
    - Insuite at Cosmopolitan, on a balcony overlooking Las Vegas
    - Joel Robuchon Las Vegas wedding on the Parisian Terrace

Not enough? That's okay, click here for even more options. There are also mobile wedding companies that will marry you just about anywhere. :)

  • I just wanna say congrats for following your heart. We would've LOVED to elope but fell into the family expectation drama (hence our second "elopement" ceremony). Ive always been intrigued by weddings out at Red Rock. But Kazzy has given you heaps of AWESOME suggestions.

  • I would so pick the water fall wall. If it was just the two of us but july is hot and groom would be whinny . Venetian has an indoor one but is out of our budget
  • I liked the sound of a Gondola at the Venetian.

The atrium waterfall at Venetian/Palazzo is SO pretty. And I love that the decor changes with the seasons!
