cheap wedding ideas

Hi guys! I'm looking for a wedding and dinner for my close family, 20-30 guests. I'd like to keep my budget at $1,000. I'm willing to get married anywhere from Salado to San Antonio. If you have any advice at all, let me have it please.

Re: cheap wedding ideas

  • I recommend posting this on your local board and on the budget/DIY board for ideas on how to host properly on a budget :)

  • With a guest list that small, you could have a simple backyard wedding.  You can have a friend get ordained online to marry you.  Then you would only need to worry about the cost of the license, food for guests, and some nice clothes for you and FI (which if you already have something in your closet, even better!).  Hook up your ipod and you can have a great afternoon/evening!
  • Backyard wedding, or courthouse and take your guests out to lunch or dinner. A lot of restaurants will work with you to rent a private space and set up a prix fixe menu.
  • Also, try times/dates that aren't as popular.  Like a lunch-time wedding or a wedding on a friday or sunday.

Check your local boards for more venue ideas, but a lot of restaurants may have a small space to do a ceremony as well, or if you're religious, a lot of churches will work with you on fees if you are low-income.  Some churches even have reception spaces too, for very low cost.

    Good luck!

Well, cheap wedding ideas requires creativity and innovations. So It’s better to take advisory services from wedding planner, it could be virtual http://www.cheap-chic-weddings.com .I think wedding planner should aware of etiquette and traditions of wedding according to cultural requirements. So for effective wedding planning creativity matters very much in any wedding ideas.  So you don't need to get panic and stress, simply relax and see how things would work on automatically.

  • @KnotPorscha  Michael2365 seems very vendorish.
  • I don't know what other states do, but in OK my husband and I got a good discount on our license. OK changes the cost of a marriage license from $50 to $5 if you go to premarital counseling. We went to a free one day only workshop for about 5 hours, and that covered it. I found it by following a link from the courthouse website.
