It's the church's policy - blaming it on the bride is a no-no.

We're having an unplugged ceremony and yes it was my idea. But my other half agrees. So we aren't stating that I'm a crazy bride who wants no phones - we have on our website and it will be mentioned by the pastor that the service is unplugged but phones are welcome right after.
Which still won't stop people who wish to take photos, though.  And that's the problem with "unplugged" ceremony announcements.

It's fine to ask everyone to place their phones on silent or to shut them off- most churches do this during regular mass, but don't be surprised if people still take photos.

I hope my guests take some photos during our ceremony!  Brides here have posted some beautiful guest photos from their ceremonies.

Eh, if some people don't listen and take pictures, I'm sure it will be fine. My sister's wedding was unplugged and as a BM I didn't see a single camera in the crowd.

I completely understand why some people want pictures during ceremonies and some don't. Just a personal preference thing for sure.
