One of the reasons why I don't want to go back to WW is because (at least with the traditional points program--are they still doing the core program too?) I don't feel like it adequately addresses the difference between healthy foods that are higher in fat/calories, and crappy foods that are higher in fat/calories. My idea of eating healthier is also eating fewer heavily processed foods, which means I'd feel healthier eating a regular cupcake than a WW cupcake. However, I don't diet any more (I lost about -20 lbs trying to diet), so that's another reason I'd rather eat the regular cupcake.

They are doing "simple start" and a "simply filling" programs, as far as I know. I just went to my first meeting a couple days ago. I agree with your idea of just not eating processed food, another reason why I didn't join Jenny Craig or whatever that one diet meal system is.

One of the funniest books I've read is "Such a Pretty Fat" by Jen Lancaster, and it's a memoir about her trying to lose weight to avoid health complications. She tried Jenny Craig and oh my god. It sounds awful. Like, props to anyone who's had success on JC and liked it, but the description of the experience Jen Lancaster had did not make me feel confident that JC was something that might work for me.
