Hanging tulle between pews

I've seen a lot of pictures on tk and on posters pics of churches where tulle is strung between each pew so it looks as though the guests are closed into the pew when the bride comes down the aisle.

How is this done? My concern is how is it strung so that the guests can get into the pews? We are Catholic our church has a total of 3 aisles with pews on each of the far sides next to the windows, and then pews flanking the middle aisle and the side aisles. The pews that run down the middle of the church have a divider that seperates them so that whatever aisle you enter the pew from is the aisle you have to use to leave the pew.

Any advice would be really appreciated. I love the pictures I've seen and think it will look nice with my rose and pomander balls and bows. However, I don't want to do it if it's going to be something that will just end up being a huge headache.

*Also, we are decorating the church the day before and there are 2 Masses between the decorating and the ceremony. The parishioners won't touch the decorations, but I don't know how that would work with the tulle thing.

Re: Hanging tulle between pews

  • I have not done this myself, but my understanding is that the guests would enter through the side of the pew next to the wall/windows, and exit that way as well, because like you said the tulle prevents them from entering from the middle.
  • I like the Idea it keeps guests in the pew's I have seen guests crouch into the aisle to take pictures often getting in the photographer/videographers way. Not sure how to attach it though
  • Yeah, I really doubt it would work at my church. I tried looking up how-to's on it and they were all for pews you could enter for 2 sides. They are having a sale on tulle at JoAnn's this week so I thought I would buy it, but I'm not going to do it.

And I do think retread and stage are right now that I sit here and think about it. I do like the overall look, but it's okay if I can't do it.

    Thanks for the help!
