What's on the agenda?

 

After work, the in laws are coming for dinner. I found out last night from DH- originally, I was given the impression that we were going to their place. Nope. So DH is grilling chicken, I'm prepping veggies and cleaning off dining table so we can eat there.

 We tried to get together with them last week/weekend, but they were too busy/had other activities planned, until we mentioned we had all the wedding photos in.

FIL was apparently asking why the photos haven't been "shared out" yet- uh, because we want to go through them all, make albums as gifts for people, and then send out prints/ecopies to folks? I've a feeling he'd like to share/show them off to God and everybody.

This is the same FIL who was emphatically telling DH we should send a thank you note to DH's uncle/FIL's brother for sending us a wedding gift- 2 days after I'd finished ALL the thank you notes and popped them in the mail. Family, sigh.

After they leave, I need to workout and do my tax amendment to send in tomorrow.

No fun for me today.  Doing clinic work this morning, then I have a lunch meeting about student loan repayment (oh joy), followed by class, clinic team meeting, and then prepping for a pro bono court appearance tomorrow and our clinic client's hearing on Thursday night.

I also couldn't sleep more than a few hours tonight, so I might need a coffee IV drip.

Sucksville here. Turmoil at work... "scope" time in the land of advertising, where disengaged clients decide how many people they'd like to pay for this year and we all play musical chairs to try and not get fired. Fun times, let me tell ya.

I have a busy day. I am a lobbyist so I have to meet with a bunch of city council people to try and advise them against some really stupid legislation. But after that, H and I are going to the doctor and I get to see the little human/ melon growing in me. Then Mexican food with my dad (I might even get a virgin marg!) and home to watch Chicago Fire.

We're trying to get across town. We got 12" of snow yesterday, and town still isn't dug out. My workplace is opening 2 hours late. As if that actually helps.

@Shrek- no, you haven't missed the photos, but we started a deep house clean this weekend, and DH decided Sunday would be the day "we" tackled the office- comprised of 90% his piles of crap. Photos are coming, I promise.  Additionally, don't know if you're aware, but HBO online is letting you watch the first three seasons of GOT this week in anticipation of Sunday's premiere!

Going out to dinner with my parents tonight to go over some wedding details. We've been filling them in in dribs and drabs but haven't sat down with both of them together in months. We want to ask my dad to say grace at the reception. We are also doing a ring warming at our ceremony and are asking six couples whose marriages we admire to say a silent blessing over our rings. My parents are our A#1 couple. Their marriage is awesome. So, we should probably clue them in on what's happening.

I have to study. A lot. I have an exam tomorrow, a lab-write up due Wednesday (that is mostly finished already), and then on Thursday my mother is coming to visit. That's about all I'm concerned with and cleaning.

Had to get my car inspected this morning so I can renew my license plates, and hoping that FI continues to look for houses in MO for us to live in and not KS so I don't have to renew them again a month later in another state!   I'm glad it passed, I found out last week that apparently when I bottomed out at his parents' house 2 weeks ago, I bent part of the frame  that holds in the radiator/AC, etc. and they can't get to my AC to fix it - going to have to go to a body shop to have it fixed (ouch). 

I've been having horrible drama with a crown on a front tooth, and tomorrow hopefully will be the last one I have to have fitted.  I broke the last one immediately, and cracked the replacement as soon as they tried to fit it, so hopefully tomorrow will go better than the last 3 months' worth of drama.

Town is ridiculous. We're used to snow, don't get me wrong, but at the end of the season a Colorado low can just put us out of commission. At least we didn't get the tornado. Yeah. There was a tornado warning yesterday during the blizzard warning. Pictures and everything, let me see ...

Going to a birthday dinner for one of my BMs and hoping I don't have to sit by the girl who is still a bridezilla 4 months after her wedding. 

The last time we had the pleasure of her company, she berated me not only for "letting" my BMs pick their own dress, but for paying for them. That she would send out weekly email blasts with certain rules, like not to alter hair without consultation or to get any new visible tattoos. She also kicked a BM out of her wedding for getting pregnant and her husband mentioned that she "ruled the BMs with fear." She made them sign a contract. (CRAZY!) I needed much wine for that evening.

I don't understand how women like that have any friends at the end of things. Why would anyone want to be friends with someone who treated them like that?

I love my son and DIL but why the heck did I manage to visit them on the very weekend that he had the appalling head cold that I woke up with today? The weather has suddenly turned glorious here. Which makes my running nose, constant sneezing and low headache all the nastier.

I have no idea. If she brings it up again tonight I fully intend on asking her.
