Renting a Suit?

My fiance is having trouble finding a grey suit. Every place we go seems to have the same grey tuxedo that he hates. Anyone know of any places that rents grey suits? We definitely don't want our groomsman to have to purchase.

Re: Renting a Suit?

  • We actually bought my FI's suit (grey) at Jos A. Banks. They are pricey but they run deals a lot- sometimes but 2 suits get 3 free. His suit including tailoring was only $200 on sale but it's normally $900. We figured it was worth the investment- we could have rented but now he owns it and it wasn't that much more than renting.
  • Did you try DuBois?
  • We've considered that but we really don't want to force his groomsman into purchasing a suit.

  • Consider looking for gray suits at less expensive stores.  "Forcing" the groomsmen to purchase a suit is no different than "forcing" them to pay for a rental if they're in the same price range.  Plus, at least they get to keep the suit.  My husband & his 6 groomsmen all purchased khaki suits through JCPenney for $110 each.  It's less than most tux rentals and they wore their own brown shoes & white shirts under.  We gave ties as part of their gift.  Check out lower priced stores lik Penney's, Kohl's, Sears, etc

  • My FI rented suits for the last two weddings he was in.  It cost around $200 each time!  Expensive.  He decided for our wedding that would be the groomsmens presents.  He is going to tell them to plan on paying around $100 or $150 which is cheaper than the rental fee and we will cover the rest of the cost.  That way they get to keep a suit and not have to just waste the money for one night.  We will check out those sales at Joseph A Banks and Men's warehouse.  Maybe this could be an option?
