So my dad called me up in a little bit of a panic. He was talking to a business associate who had married off a couple kids of her own. She said to him, "my best advice is to practice." He wasn't sure what to practice so he asked. She replied, "The veil, practice lifting the veil!"
He calls me up having no idea what she's talking about. When does he lift the veil. Does he even lift the veil. Isn't that something that the groom does.
I told him to just relax, that I have a single tier veil because I want to be able to see everyone when I walk down the aisle, so he doesn't have to lift anything.
The sigh of relief from him was audible.
