I didn't want to feed them **vent**

I picked vegas to keep costs down keep things simple and avoid stress as much as possible. All I really wanted was a nice chapel a big poof dress a cake and champagne. Well the FI said we gotta feed them something and turned up his nose at all the chapels next to tattoo parlors. So fine toss in the Bellagio knowing it would be nice site unseen and a quaint reception in the cafe. Then I just want a slumber party night before. Then my bridesmaids said bachelor Etter party on Saturday shower on Sunday. Then I say we should all meet at the buffet the next morning to say bye bye. Mom says if you invite u gotta pay. I say fine. Then there has to be munchies at the shower. Toss on there a hand made cake topper made by me, again trying to save money by spending more, and a custom made wedding band because I'm a geek and the FI will only wear yellow gold and my budget has gone out the window. So I'm getting married at Bellagio, going up in May for a site seeing tour, coming up and paying Saturday night rates, sneaking in munchies for the shower, buying lots of booze for shower and after party, hosting a lunch reception, in suite after party, have a hopefully beautiful two cat cake topper, a custom made wedding band that has the wedding date in binary diamonds are the 1's, and hosting a thank you breakfast buffet. So after purchasing a basic bar this afternoon my mother says you should have saved the money and gone on a cruise. I about died the only thing I could think of to say was I Didn't Even Want to Feed People. Thank you for listening and understanding :))

  • VENT sister! I feel sick sometimes when I think of how much money we spent on this wedding and what we "could" have done with it so I feel your pain. I think there is a lot more pressure on destination weddings to do more than just a cake and punch reception. Im sure your guests will appreciate your hospitality. Im not sure I understand why you are paying/hosting your own bridal shower or did I misread that?

  • My bridesmaid isn't the most flush with cash and has two teenagers at home so I don't mind paying for some munchies she's helped enough with planning and I know she's gonna have the wedding day running like clockwork so it's kinda like paying for a day of coordinator instead :-)
