Reception options near/ around City Center?

Hello! We just booked our wedding ceremony at Aria chapel for June 2015. I am hoping to have a reception in the City Center area for 35-40 guests. We have looked at Jean Georges Steakhouse in Aria so far but haven't heard back from group dining. Our budget is very flexible. Does any one have any suggestions/ advice for some options? I would prefer to have open bar/ heavy hors d'oeuvres for two hours rather than a formal several course dinner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

  • Wicked Spoon at Cosmo comes highly recommended on here for their private room and options. Never been personally but haven't heard many bad things about it.

  • I am using aria too, November 2014. Their group dining manager told me they only do dining reservations 6 months out. However my wedding coordinator at the chapel (who have been awesome) recommended a package at social house in the adjacent crystals shops. They sent me a menu that had the ceremony, and heavy hors doerves reception all packaged together and the price was good!!

  • @Rosebubbly, when we scouted Aria, we were able to meet with the Social House manager and discuss the reception for the back 'deck/patio' area. My only concern was that from that area, it was pretty clear you were in a mall. They mentioned large plants to help eliminate awkward mall traffic. I really liked the menu and pricing though. Are you doing anything to create privacy/ decorate it?
  • I actually didn't book it because we want a full meal rather than reception and their dinner options weren't in my budget. But...glad to have your feedback in case I circle back to it. My reception is still basically undecided.

Jean Georges is a beautiful restaurant, very dark and masculine and their private rooms are gorgeous and intimate. Great food, too.

Another choice might be Javier's for Mexican. Aria also has a nice group dining site that gives you an overview of the private rooms and group menus and capacities, but it's tough to find on their site. Click here to head there!

In Crystals, Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina or Morton's SHe Steakhouse might be good.

And in Cosmopolitan, Jaleo, Comme Ca, DOCG and Scarpetta might be considerations, but there are many options there. Many are listed on OpenTable Group Reservations [link]

  • The firefly has a nice menu too and it's reasonable
  • I just got the wolfgang puck menu and am very impressed with the prices!

  • A little late but we have our reception booked at Wolfgang Puck's. Their prices are very reasonable and they have been great to work with. If you have never eaten there, the food is good as well. They gave us free pizza when we went to check out the private room.

Did you book a private room? What is the decor like? (i.e- will you have to decorate)
