Help! The Knot online RSVP problems...

I went to the trouble to enter all of my guests into The Knot, so I could use their online RSVP. My main goal in doing this was so my dad's side of the family, which is over 100 people, would not try to bring all of their kids. Clearly, they could see the names of those who were invited and only respond yes or no for those names. Well, it was a great idea in theory... but The Knot is allowing them to add people essentially by searching a name that isn't listed and then they can just put any old list of names and RSVP for them. So, my first RSVP just came in and 4 extra people who weren't invited have put in a "yes."

What can be done to stop this? I can't handle this kind of stress. My venue is already maxed out with the people I invited.

The only thing you can really do is appoint someone to contact those people and tell them the others aren't invited.

The only thing I know about the Knot's tools is not to use them.  We get brides coming to us all the time saying something won't work.  <<that isn't helpful to you now, I'm just saying I'm not familiar with how they work.

Is there a setting for being able to add to the list?  Kind of like FB groups - they can be set so anyone can invite someone or admin only can invite.

I'd definitely do as 6 suggested and either call these people and explain they weren't part of the original guest list or have someone else call them (maybe your dad if it's his family).

And I know this happens all the time, but who really wants to go to a wedding they clearly weren't invited to?  I don't get it.  I love me a wedding, but they aren't THAT fun that I'd weasel my way into one.

I just went to the guest list tool.  Did you categorize people into groups?  It looks like people in these groups CAN add guests to the list.  I found this under "edit list settings".

Groups:Who is that on your list? Keep track of who is inviting whom by categorizing all your guests. You can create as many groups as you like. To remove a group, first, click on the item and then click the delete icon that appears.
