Rehearsal Dinner Invitations

Hopefully this is a dumb question because I haven't had enough coffee today. I understand that one can host their own rehearsal dinner because it's in honor of the guests of that dinner, not the couple... so why are all of the rehearsal dinner invitations I'm finding worded "join us for a rehearsal dinner in honor of Bridename and Groomname?" What would be a better way of wording this so that we're not the honorees? Or is this just what they always say even if we're the hosts? I'm drawing a blank.

Our rehearsal dinner invitations were word of mouth.  Ditto daughter's.  How about this

    Rehearsal Dinner
    Date
    time
    Venue
    Address
    City, State

Shouldn't our names be on it somewhere, and a "call to action" (apologies for the marketing-speak)? I realize they'll probably figure it out, but I don't feel like they should just be anonymous.

ETA: I'm not planning on including them in the wedding invitation. They would be sent separately.

I would think that they would know, but try this:

You are invited to the rehearsal dinner
for the wedding of Bride and Groom
    Date
    time
    Venue
    Address
    City, State

    How about
"The pleasure of your company is requested
    at a rehearsal dinner
on the eve of the marriage of
    Bride's Name
    and
    Groom's Name
    Date
    Time
    Venue
    Address
    City, State"?

Rehearsal dinner invitations are not usually very formal, so any of the suggestions would work.  Don't worry too much about this.

Yeah I'm definitely overthinking it. I love sending and receiving paper invitations in the mail in general so I don't want to just gloss over it... but all of the wording had just sounded either inaccurate (honoring bride and groom) or overly wordy. Thanks everybody! :)

I love sending and receiving paper invitations too. I was really happy to learn that people sometimes send out rehearsal dinner invites, because I immediately wanted to.
