Something Old, Something New...

I think this may have been a topic before, but I couldn't find the thread. I thought it would be a fun idea to share our "somethings"!

Something Old - The ring my grandfather gave to his 2nd wife. FI used this ring to size my engagement ring because I have slim fingers and it's the only ring that fits me!
Something New - My dress
Something Borrowed - Or something "used" as my sister would say, LOL. I'm borrowing my Sister-in-Law's veil.
Something Blue - Something Blue, the fragrance by Oscar De La Renta!

  • Something Old: Lace from mom's wedding dress will wrap around my bouquet (it's actually the lace cap from the veil, which almost matches the lace pattern on my dress!). I will also be using my mom's veil (just one layer of the tulle), except she's added some lace around the edge to get the exact look that I want. Something New: I bought a pair of earrings (forgot to include in this photo), which match the design of my engagement ring, and a hair comb. Something Borrowed: I found an old pin that was my great-grandmother's (which was in my mom's collection) and a smaller pin from my grandmother that will also go on my bouquet, just gotta clean them up a bit (the smaller one will help hold my mom's lace around the stems and the larger one will be on the bottom of the stems...I hate seeing cut stems on a wedding bouquet). Since we're not getting married in a church I thought this was a nice "tradition" to have/do, especially since I'll be using something from each of my family's generations, one of which is no longer with us.Something Blue: My Princess Peach garter & my shoes.....also forgot to include the garter in this photo but here's a single shot of it.

  • Old and Blue: great grandmother's antique aquamarine ring, on my right hand

    New: dres, shoes, veil, etc

Borrowed: not sure, but the main contendor right now is the garter that FI caught at his friend's wedding - i figure if i wear it, and then return it to the bride from that wedding the next morning, it counts?  we're not doing a garter toss.  i guess my great grandmother's ring could count as borrowed, but it's been given to me now, so i'm not sure it's truly borrowed.

Something old: pending (I just thought of something, my dad used to wear a Buddha on a chain and I'll probably tie it to my bouquet)
    Something new: dress
Something borrowed: my MOH's tennis bracelet
Something blue: my shoes and chonies (chonies=undies)
  • Old & Borrowed: necklace and earrings I've borrowed from a co-worker that she inherited from her mother, gorgeous antique setting with amethyst stones.
    New: dress & shoes
    still working on blue...
