Dinner/Dancing Help Needed :)

Hi,

I'm new to all this planning and could do with some help as I am planning from Ireland so have no opportunity to view any locations before booking. I've been to vegas before but it was about 3 years ago now.

Has anyone had any experience or heard any reviews on a reception at TAO Restaurant? I've been thinking of having dinner there after our ceremony in their private dining area and then heading on into TAO Nightclub afterwards for some dancing etc?

My original choice was the Renaissance Room @ Top of the World in the Stratosphere but there hasnt been too many reviews or mentions of it on this site and that worries me. Any information on this venue would also be greatly appreciated as I LOVE the view this place offers. The distance down the strip doesnt bother me as I would organise transport there and back for my guests.

My plan is to have ceremony in Ceasers (Juno Garden) followed by a 2 hour strip tour/photo tour with the DDB company followed by dinner/dancing.. Where to go though is the question?

  • I've been to TAO often, both in the restaurant and in the club, but never for a big event. I have called for pricing and the staff is fast and responsive. Menus start at $50/pp for groups of 15 or more. You can either get space on the main dining floor (separate but visible, if your party is on the smaller side) or a private room. Their customer service has always been fantastic every time I've gone, and they can do a custom dinner/club package for you. Food there is amazing, vibe is hip and fun, club is a riot.

Hakkasan has a similar concept, Asian restaurant & club in one, but I wasn't thrilled with their service, especially in the restaurant. If I had to choose between the two, TAO hands-down.

TAO has an Italian restaurant/club sister, Lavo. Food is a great value (for being on the Strip) and really tasty. They brag about their meatballs but the one we tried was nothing to write home about, so skip that, but everything else has been pretty scrumptious. The club is much smaller than TAO and a slightly more awkward layout. We saw Holly Madison and Perez Hilton there once randomly.

  • You might also check Yelp for reviews for any Vegas location, there are lot's more reviews there than on this board, although ours are geared to weddings, it is helpful to read the overall reviews there too.

  • Krislsmiley is totally right! I've gotten a lot of helpful info and pics from regular dining customers
