The Valley Regency in Clifton NJ

Hi All,

I am getting married in November of 2015 and have been looking at a number of venues to kind of get the ball rolling. I'm wondering if anyone has recently had their wedding, or is under contract with Vally Regency for the future. I am curious to know if you were able to negotiate the price per person or if there was anything you were able to add on if they wouldn't budge on the price. I have read the reviews and many people have said they were able to knock off about $20 per head however the reviews are from 2011. I'm looking for a more recent review! I would LOVE to have my wedding there as my fiance and I both fell in love with it as soon as we walked in! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for a saturday evening and have the Church booked already so I am not flexible on the date. I know that could be worse but I can find other venues to accomodate me if they will not. I have been talking with Franco who has been wonderful and we are going there this weekend to negotiate. I just don't want to get ripped off!

Thanks in advance!

  • You might have more luck getting answers posting this on the New Jersey board. I know several people have mentioned the Valley Regency there.

  • I am getting married at the Valley Regency in April 2015. I am working with Vincent and he has been a pleasure. My FI and I loved the place from the moment we walked in and we looked at alot of placed. They were very willing to negotiate especially because of the off season. I know they said parts of November has become an extension of the peak season, so it might be harder for them to throw in a few things. I was very flexible with dates, I just wanted to get married on their beautiful outside grounds... let me know if you have more questions... happy to help!
  • My FI and I are also considering the Valley Regency for April 2015.  We also loved it from the moment we walked in!  I had my sweet 16 there (15 years ago lol) and my family was very pleased with it back then, so I can only imagine how nice it will be now.  The staff we met with was very nice--we've worked with Anthony so far--but I really wasn't able to negotiate it with him.  Do you have any tips?

  • My FI and I just signed our contract yesterday, we worked with Anthony.  We went with Saturday 4/18/15 during the day, ceremony at VR starting at 11:30a.  We are deciding either between a traditional dinner (90PP ++: ceremony, 1 hr cocktail hour, 4 hour dinner) or a cocktail hour reception (75 PP ++ ceremony, 4 hour cocktail hour).  When I called I was quoted about $90 PP too, so the price matched when we visited.

  • Thank you everyone! We actually booked VR with Vincent as well. He was fantastic! He was able to negotiate a bit off which really helps considering we are having a large wedding on a saturday night. I would recommend them to anyone. He was so acommodating and knew that I was in love with the place. I can't say enough that he made my wedding much more affordable in the place that I've always pictured!
  • Is that the one on Valley Rd by the college?
  • @jpm2120 I am getting married there right after you!
  • @drina0218 yes that's the one right down the road from Montclair. Next to the steakhouse
  • I thought so. It's beautiful there!
