Main Line Weddings

I am married, and helping with a wedding!  The mass will be at St Pats in Malvern.

~ Thoughts on reception places for a sit down dinner with approximately 200 people?

~Good places for wedding dresses?  Bride is a plus size.

~Flowers?

~Limo?

~Hair and Make Up?

~Basically everything......

Thank you!  Enjoy the planning!!!!!!  It really is worth it!

Re: Main Line Weddings

  • Malvern is fairly close to Phoenixville - less than 10 miles.  There you have a choice of the Foundry (very expensive to rent), RiverCrest Country Club; or Columbia Station where I had my wedding. I can't say enough good things about my venue, food, and service.  It is beautiful there and just had a total re-do.  All of these places can seat over 200 comfortably.  about another 5 miles is The Barn at Bridge in Collegeville also run by the people that run Columbia Station.  I am also plus sized and got my dress at a shop in Quakertown, but that might be kind of far for you.  For flowers I wouldn't use anyone but Whimsical Welcomes Floral Design.  Leslie is very creative and my flowers were so unique. She works out of her home so she is priced less than flower stores.  I didn't use a limo.  For hair John from Studio 73 in Skippack traveled to me to do hair and Face the Occasion traveled to do makeup.  Ron Dlutz was my photographer and Rose Tree Video filmed our wedding.  I had the best vendors and highly recommend all of them.  Send me a message if you have any questions.
  • Have you looked on Partyspace yet?  They let you narrow down the search based on number of guests, location, availability of date, price and style of wedding.  There are a ton of local venues on there, and it's a really direct way to create a realistic list.  I found it super useful, because it eliminated all the possibilities which weren't applicable right away and had reviews and pictures right on the site.  It's how I found my venue (Swedish Museum)- and was actually one of the only wedding sites which featured it!  I've heard great things about the Foundry & Columbia Station (they're both very different) and also the Old Mill which is a little further south, as well.  They're all really different, though, so it depends on what the bride's vision and budget are!
