My mom's said that as an engagement gift she's going to get me a ring box. One the cats can't knock open when they steal it. And one I'll find again when the cats steal it.

I felt naked without my engagement ring when we had to take it back to the jeweler to get a missing diamond replaced. I was so anxious to have it back on. Usually as soon as I get home from work, I will take my ring off and put it away.

I have a jewelry tower (is that what it's called?) That my parents got me as a gift a few years ago. My problem is that I am so absent minded, I always end up losing my jewelry, anyways. I learned a long time ago not to buy myself expensive earrings (I had these cute diamond studs I lost within 6 months). I also have a jewelry box my uncle got me years ago. You would think I would always use it, but sometimes I take the ring off and leave it on our bureau. Luckily the cats rarely go up there, so my ring was laying on top of some hair styling product when I got home.

FI puts my ring on me in the morning while I'm sleeping so that I don't forget it. lol I have a pretty noticeable callus/discoloration and indentation on my ring finger, too!

I never took mine off for anything until the first time I took it to the jeweler for a cleaning/inspection/re-rhodium. They said it was a good thing I brought it in, I had a dented a prong and my center stone wasn't seated correctly. I then got the lecture about shampoo and lotion doing damage to the finish, so now I take it off to shower/sleep and do anything messy (cooking, dishes etc). I do notice a big difference in how sparkly it still looks. I keep a ring box on my nightstand and that's where it goes EVERY time I take it off.
