My daughter had one request for me - she wanted me to wear a hat.  Her FMIL loves wearing hats, and wanted to wear one, but she was afraid to wear one at the wedding if I wasn't wearing one.  I actually bought my suit on Ebay for $35, and paid $90 to have it fitted and updated.  (Ugh!  Shoulder pads!)  I couldn't find anything in stores that covered my ugly knees!  So I was a church lady in a formal suit, hat and gloves.  Fun!
