any all inclusive in Hawaii??

My fiance and I would absolutely love to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Does anyone know if there is any all-inclusive resorts there? I would really prefer to go all inclusive for our honeymoon, the wedding is a lot of money and I'm sure the trip will be too so I don't want to spend a fortune while we are there on food and drinks too.

Re: any all inclusive in Hawaii??

  • There are no all-inclusives in Hawaii.

I live in Manhattan, and Hawaii is the only place I've been to in the world where I thought "egads this is expensive!"

There are some ways to save money: use airbnb to rent a condo, and cook some of your meals. Food prices on the island are ridiculous though-the price of milk will make you faint. We got milk and cereal for breakfast, even with the hefty price tag, it was far cheaper than eating out for breakfast.

We spent a week each on Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island. Kauai and the Big Island were far less expensive than Maui, we spent the least on Kauai. It's much smaller, so you drive around a lot less.

Excursions can be quite pricey, but the beaches are free. There are a LOT of beaches where you can snorkel right off the coast, and you're likely to see even better sea life than on a $100+ trip. We rented snorkel gear for the weak, which was $25 each. Day rentals are usually about $15. So it was a good investment.

  • Norwegian has an island cruise that visits the main islands in a week.  Food and onboard entertainment is included, but not alcohol, tips, airfare to Honalulu, and shore excursions.  You get to see a lot of Hawaii.

I'll be honest with you, Hawaii is bound to be expensive. First of all, unlike the Caribbean, there are no all-inclusive resorts. (I know you can buy meal packages at the Disney Aulani, but it's not a traditional AI, I don't think.)

Not sure where you are flying from, but from the East Coast, you're going to be hugging the $1,000 mark apiece. (West Coast is much, much cheaper, of course!) Accommodations aren't cheap. I would look into FlipKey or Airbnb for a vacation rental; groceries, like PP said, are expensive but you'll likely save there; going out to dinner is expensive. Aside from vacation rentals or condos, Aston Hotels may be worth looking into; they are a mid-priced chain, and I know there's a cluster of them in Hawaii (definitely on Waikiki Beach).

Beaches are free, so if you're planning on doing that, you'll save money! Excursions are expensive but one or two would be worth your while. Hiking is definitely one of the best and cheapest ways to see the islands, and renting a bicycle is also fairly inexpensive (have done so on Oahu and Kauai). If your hotel has snorkel gear, that's another excursion you can do on your own.

  • There are no (traditional) AIs in Hawaii.

Hawaii definitely can be pricey, but it can also be done on a budget.  We typically stay in a condo/timeshare property and plan to cook at least 2 dinners during a week long stay.  It's also convenient to have a place for drinks/snacks, and most of the places we stay provide you with beach chairs and an ice chest to make up your own stuff to take to the beach with you.  For going out to eat, there are certainly expensive options, but there are also a lot of low budget options too.  Some of the lower budget places end up being the best too...you don't have to go to a sit down place for every meal!  I love the tripadvisor app because it has a 'near me now' option and you can narrow it down by price, makes it easy to find places to eat for whatever your budget is.
  • Nope. All Inclusive in Hawaii is not what you would expect in like the AIs in Carribean, Bahamas or Mexico.
  • No AI's in Hawaii but some hotels will do free breakfast with booking specials.
