Little Victories

I just played a game on the radio and won! I won tickets to Disney on Ice, which I would love to go to, but BF would never go. They gave me the option to switch to Cirque Du Soleil! Boston area ladies, I will be on 96.9 tomorrow morning between 7:40-7:50.

What little victories have you had lately?

Re: Little Victories

  • I drank an entire grande half-caf latte this morning.  normally I can't even finish a tall.  I consider that a victory!
  • Have a great time, I love Cirque du Soleil!

I like @KeptInStitches' response: I haven't caused any disasters recently. Lol, uhhhh...yeah, I got nothin', which means it's time get off TK and get some things done.

  • Jealous! Love all things Cirque!

I've lined up 2 photo sessions for next month, which means more exposure AND money (but less lazy weekend free time). I still consider it a win.

  • Oh have a grat time Cirque is a lot of fun!

My little victory for today is that I don't feel as crappy as I did yesterday, thanks to Claritin!

  • I managed to get both girls off to school ON TIME today without a fight! THAT is an accomplishment for me.

  • I finally talked myself into calling and making an appointment to have a complete physical and blood work done. I HATE BLOOD WORK and I pass out every time because I have severe anxiety about it. But I made the appointment and that's a big deal. FI even offered to go and hold my hand while they draw my blood. I took him up on that offer.

  • @caseface5, I listen to 96.9 in the morning sometimes, 7:40-7:50 is the time I'm usually walking in to  work but maybe I'll catch it!
I've always wanted to go to a cirque du soleil show but haven't yet.

BTW, what area are you and BF buying a house in if you don't mind me asking?

  • @severmilli12, I am the same way with blood work. It definitely helps when my BF holds my hand and talks to me during it. I also always make sure to let the nurse/tech know, and they lay me down instead of sitting me upright, and allow me to stay there as long as I need to.

My little victory is finding a major issue very quickly in my new project, and having everyone up the chain of command take note and work on getting it fixed. The issue is that someone on the manufacturing side of things made a mistake (i.e. before I can do my part of the project). Part of my job is to catch those things as quickly as I can to prevent issues in the products down the road, so the fact that I found it on day one of it being available to me was awesome. It felt especially good to finally have the chance to prove myself, especially after I just received my first raise on Monday!

  • @leese19, It was on this morning at 7:40 right on the dot. It was so weird hearing myself on the radio!

We are buying a house on the south shore. We live about 35-40 minutes outside of the city, and right between Boston, and the Cape.

  • @severmilli12 oh, it's a requirement that H is there whenever there is medical procedure or bloodwork.  Needless to say, he missed a crapton of work when I had a c. diff infection last summer (he was able to make most of it up due to flex scheduling, but I don't know how he didn't kill me during the fiasco).  As @aurorarose41 mentioned, just make sure you're lying down, let the nurse know (don't be apologetic about it either.  and tell your FI to request another nurse if the nurse is a bitch, because you may not be coherent enough to recognize it), and bring some gatorade.  Helps recover from the faint a bit better :)  I also ALWAYS tell the nurses to "just keep on going" if I pass out, because I'll remember less of it if I'm unconscious...

I'm convinced my medical charts say "this one is psychotic.  Have fun".
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @blue haha thanks! I didn't know about the Gatorade but I will definitely be bringing some with me. Passing out has to be one of the worst feelings in the world.

  • I must have just missed it! Was it that game that Baltizar and Pebbles play against each other with callers? I had no idea that was not done live lol,

Nice, congrats on the house!! That is so exciting. FI and I probably would like to live on the south shore as well, lots of nice places, but nowhere too far from Boston since he works here. Everything's so damn expensive though, well for what I'd LIKE to have lol.
