I spilled water all over the seed paper I got for our invitations. There is a bit of time to order more and we have the money to but there is still that little bit of panic that I'm trying to fight back.

  • Oh, no!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Mail them anyway --- maybe your invitations will be beautiful flowers by the time your guests get them!

In all seriousness, though, that sucks. Is it at all salvageable? Can you hang it on a clothesline to dry? If not, take a deep breath and order more. Now you'll have a very full garden of your own.

  • I was able to save about half the paper so I'm not going to have to order as much as I thought.
  • Can you dry them with a blow dryer?
  • The pieces that didn't get too wet were salvageable. The pieces who got the most water on them started to disintegrate when I touched them. Oh well... The damage wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though, plus I was able to scrape up the paper, get some potting soil and some planters, and I planted it. I'll plant them outside this weekend but I think they will get an ok start in the pots.
  • Wait, the paper is literally seeds?

    HOW COOL!
  • Tell me more about this paper!

  • It is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It is (mostly) hand made paper with seeds in it. You can plant it and stuff will grow. We bought the kind with flowers seeds, but they also sell paper with herbs and veggies.
  • Welp. I just found my favors. :)

I wanted to do these as favours, but DH told me, 'You know, not everyone on earth has the gardening abilities you and Mama HisGirl have. Some of us kill things just by looking at them.'

So we did bookmarks. Which were cool, too.

I'm gonna go with 'not my circus, not my monkeys.'

Our families all like to garden enough that they'd enjoy this.
ACTUALLY, we are getting married in a garden, and our wedding venue sells seed packets of their special veggies, and we were thinking of giving those as favors anyway. But I think the cards are a bit cuter/unique.

That would be cool. FI is set in the idea of an edible favor so we'll be doing some sort of sweet thing. I really like the idea of seeds though. Most of the people in our families garden so we think the seed paper invites are going to be a hit.
  • I thought about it, but I know that I'll want to keep an invite for our scrapbook, as will his mom most likely (my mom will probably put mine on the fridge with my STD). So I'm just afraid that the seed paper will tear up or look grungy over time. :/
