Liberty house

Any liberty house brides(past or present)? Would love to know about your experience. How was the food presentation? They tell me the cocktail hour is all plastic plates. True?

Re: Liberty house

  • I attended a wedding at the Liberty House in 2008. Overall, it was a nice wedding. But, the cocktail hour was quite small (it was under a tented patio in October, and was more vegetables and breads and cheeses. I don't remember many, if any, hot passed hors d'oeuvres. I remember the dinner being absolutely delicious (some kind of meat - probably filet mignon.)

The cocktail hour was on that patio, and we had to walk up a wooden deck flight of stairs to get to the second floor for the dinner portion.

The negatives I am mentioning are not huge negatives - I actually dislike when there is SO MUCH food at a cocktail hour that it gets wasted. I just wanted to tell you my experience in case you were looking for a huge display of food. As for the deck - it wasn't "bad" but it was a semi-cold October night and I was in heels, so it was a bit...awkward? (This could also depend on which room you choose? Or all all receptions upstairs? Or, the season.)
