Funday Monday-- Cinco de Mayo edition

What's everybody up to today?

I studying for my LAST EVER final exam tomorrow.  I'm kind of at a point where I don't care too much.  I have a job already and an A average, so I'm pretty sure a B won't kill me.  I'll be studying for the bar when grades come out so I doubt I'll even care much at that point.  I'm hoping for A-/B+ but we'll see.  I've been working a lot at my PT job and haven't had as much time to study as I'd like.

I've been using my new Dragon dictation software to try to outline my notes so I don't kill my hands with typing. It's kind of an interesting experience. I feel like I live in the future and I can talk to my computer.

Also, if you notice that words are spelled out more frequently such as fiancé instead of F I, that's why. Dragon is not down with the knot abbreviations.

I won't be able to really celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but I'm sure I will enjoy a margarita later today!

And then work decided to do inventory today. So guess who's working 5pm-3am?

My plans for the day are

Frantically call Florist

Go to nearby sister store of where I work to purcahse table set for customer

Drive to Bmore, show up as surprise for FI's Work shower

Go back to store, pick up table purchased earlier

I offered to buy the team pizza (mainly for me). I think that I may just try to take myself on a lunch date and have some wine with lunch.

It's ok to do afternoon drinking if I am unable to do it at night due to work, right?

@jennycolada afternoon drinking is totally acceptable in thise case!

My monday is not so much fun. Work is going by terribly slow today and then afterwards I have to run a million miles in a feeble attempt to maybe not die when I have to run a half marathon in 3 weeks. I don't see it ending well. No margaritas for me today, which is sad.

@JCbride2014 - Congrats!! I finished grad school last year, and I know good that must feel!!

FI and I went out to a Cubs game last night and had a little too much Sunday Funday, so today will be a pretty buttoned-up Cinco de Mayo... A Corona does sounds nice, but I did tell myself in the few weeks leading up to the wedding I'd cut out drinking. Not sure how well that's going...

I was considering not going into work today. I don't have any clients booked and I'm tired. But then my co-worked texted me that he's bringing in pina colda mix and margarita mix and he wants to order in Mexican food from our favorite restaurant. Well then, guess I'll go to work. 

Down side everything is virgin. Apparently drinking while you tattoo people is a "bad" idea.

We are leaving for the big city of Denver for 2 nights in a few hours.   We will hit up some restaurant tonight.  Maybe a bar?   I'm not a margarita fan.  Well more like I'm not a tequila fan.  I can't get past the smell.   I might just stick to Corona or some other Mexican beer.

Sadly I have the flow from hell, coughing, sniffling and sneezing.  What a romantic few nights it will be?  HA.

I LOLed at this.  Yes please... sounds like drinking and tattoo-ing don't mix!

I am dealing with the auditors, which mostly involves me telling them to go ask someone else.

Our IT guy is here and he should avoid me because I'm still FURIOUS with him from last week's debacle that reset my entire computer.

We have more BSC Granny drama and I am just So.Freaking.Over.It., and I don't even know how to help DH deal with it.

Tonight, I'm going to go for a run, do laundry, clean, and drink wine. That sounds ambitious. Maybe I'll just run and drink wine.

Well, I love Cinco de Mayo! After work I am either going to go kickboxing, or to the gym. A coworker of mine set up a night out, but since I had meetings all day I did not get to work out during lunch. After that, FI and I are either going to a bar by my job that makes INSANE margaritas. Not only are they delicious, but they get the job done. If I have more than 1 and a half, crazy things will happen. OR we will go to a bar by our place that makes cucarachas. A cucaracha is a shot which has tequila, Bacardi 151, I think 2 other things, and then they light it on fire, and sprinkle cinnamon on it (which makes the fire really flame), and you gulp it down with a straw. It is AWESOME.

Sadly I too have to work today- but we got free Chipotle at work so that made it a little better. And I'll treat myself to a Corona or two after work tonight. And how do you like Dragon dictation? FI has been thinking about that.

I'm working from home today. I finished everything early and did my nails. Now I'm bored so I'm trying to talk FI into letting me do his. I'll be nice. Instead of painting his nails pink I would use black.

@simky906 I like it, with several caveats. I am on a Mac and I use the Pages word processor. apparently, it works a little bit better with Microsoft Word. It's a little bit buggy, and it can be frustrating sometimes. Basically, Dragon only can read the text if you actually dictated it. It keeps track of where the cursor is based on the voice commands. 

So what this means is you have to get used to never correcting yourself using the mouse or the keyboard, because if you move your cursor around with the mouse, Dragon has no idea what you're doing. I've only been seriously using it for a couple of weeks, but it takes getting used to.

For me it's worth it, because I have terrible joint pain and typing for a long time gets very painful. So it can be frustrating, but I really like it because I can just stand up and dictate what I need to type. I think it would not be worth it if I was just trying to use this for convenience or if I only had moderate joint pain.

I spent the day suffering through what I suspect might be an ear infection and trying to get more crap done for this wedding. Every time I blow my nose, my right ear squeaks. Totally not cool. BUT! Day off tomorrow. Going to get my dress hemmed (and try to figure out what my seamstress can do about the fact that my boobs no longer fit into the dress, oops) and book my rehearsal dinner. After napping on the couch all evening, I guess I have to shift all my potential productivity to tomorrow.
