I thought I'd start this thread to see how others are saving money in planning their wedding.

Hope it helps, and congrats to everyone!!!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I think we are doing pretty much everything on that list lol. Traveling in the off season (praying for no hurricanes ;) ) We went through a travel agent, got a group rate, went with an all inclusive and are planning far in advance. our wedding date is not until September of 2015.

Another thing I am also doing is paying for little things here and there instead of taking them out of our wedding budget. I just ordered our save the dates and paid for them out of check instead of taking it out of the budget. I have also ordered a few of my maid of honor's gifts and paid for those as well. We have a smaller budget so I want as much of it as possible to go towards the actual wedding day!

  • Paying a bit at a time makes a lot of sense.  The last thing anyone wants is to go into debt over this...

That was our whole idea too @borealtroll! :) We will have everything paid in cash by the day of the wedding which will feel so nice to not have any credit card or loan debt over our wedding...We made a strict budget and are sticking to it
